Really enjoy the lyrics and music of this song. Perhaps I just heard it during a good time in my life but always smile whenever I hear it now.

I had never heard of Mazzy Star until I watched Guy Ritchie's movie, Swept Away. Truly, I was swept away, by the music this movie presented, and Mazzy Star's Fade Into You had me begging for more. I downloaded the CD, and am thrilled to have discovered such an unusual and hauntingly-alive sound.

A friend (whose musical tastes are similar to mine) recommended this song.... I listened to it again and again, with an open mind, trying to find a special beauty in it that I was sure must have been there since I knew and valued the judgement of the person who was recommending it...
But... Can someone tell me exactly what is special about this song? The music is well, bland. The lyrics? What are they really saying? I don't find much depth in them, nor poetry, nor most of the things that the reviewers who gave this song 5 stars seemed to have found in them.
Am I just too old? Or have those reviewers never heard of Pink Floyd, King Crimson and the likes?

Nice
I like Mazzy Star. She's different, soulful and bluesy. A couple of tracks on this album are a bit psychedelic, but still, a nice addition to the library.
