Jiminson develops violent episodes which become too much of a risk for Gormund, who decides to kill Jiminson. But he escapes and in the process takes Beth as a hostage. Dietz, who was working on the missing person case tracks him to the research facility. What he finds is Gormund's dead assistant and a deadly threat left by Jiminson. Now Dietz and Gormund must join forces to save Beth, but can they outwit a man who has the IQ of Gormund and the street smarts of a thief?

This is a fascinating, fast-paced, impossible-to-put-down, timely novel that blends science-(maybe not-so) fiction with a detective novel. The only disapointments in this book are when you notice that you are running out of pages to read. I hope Mr. Neihaus is planning on giving his readers more of the same--soon!

Joe Niehaus is an excellent writer. I recommend this book for everyone who enjoys police/mysteries. His detailed descriptions in the book make you feel like you're right there with "Dietz". His real life knowledge of police life makes it even more real.

Check out Niehaus' other work especially, "Beware the Whale's Wake".

Fade out once again reminds us how the powerful and ambitious will justify any means, particularly at the expense of the weak, to achieve their ends. Should anyone become an unwilling or unwitting laboratory experiment?

Joe paints such vivd mental pictures that when you've finished reading the book, you will feel like you watched the movie.

Can man improve on nature... on God? Read and find out!

I highly recommend this book.
