this album is great. kimi vitas voice is beautiful and she can really sing-the music is very good as well. this album can alternatly be soothing or almost like listening to an operatic adventure. i love cest soir wich is done in french and i recommend this band to anyone with an interest in the otherworld.

I bought this because it was recommended along with a Nightwish album, so I figured it would at least be decent. Well, it's different. I'm not crazy about it, but it sure as hell isn't trash. The instruentals are great, but I hate to say, Kemi Vita is a horrible vocalist. She sounds okay when her vocals get drowned out by the guitars. I would've liked a few heavier songs, but it's all good.

This CD includes 13 tracks, 7 songs are from previous CDs. The sound is not what I was expected for "Goth" music because it has a very Celtic undertone to it and the lead singer is female. The Dream Side has four members but their instruments are very traditional though I don't think it is limited to guitars and bass if you listen to the music. In the CD booklet lyrics are given for 10 of the 12 songs; yes, 11, tracks #2 and #12 are the same song and one has no lyrics included. However, the list on the back of the CD doesn't agree with the written lyrics always. For example, "The Dreamside" on the back is called "Pale Blue Lights" in the booklet. Interestingly, the last track is supposed to be a remix of "Faery Child" by The Crüxshadows but clearly the lead singer of The Dream Side is singing. Two of the songs have non-English lyrics not a surprise on an album from a European group. "Nuda Veritas" has some German not Latin as you might expect. "Ce Soir" is entirely in French. Along the same idea when I put my CD into play, the play list showed up with 13 tracks not the 12 listed on the back of the jewel box. Several of the pieces on "Faery Child" are very long, far longer than I was expected given the nature of popular music and even what I've listened to in the alternative or Goth music scene. The problem is that unlike most CDs I've seen this one does not list the length of each piece. The majority of the songs have fairytale or supernatural images in them, which makes perfect sense for a group called "The Dream Side" doesn't it? Kemi Vita's vocals add to this theme as she sings or speaks in a very airy voice. Overall the sound was pretty similar throughout the CD with little variation in tempo and intensity at least to my ears. If I could I'd give "Faery Child" 3.5 out of 5 stars but instead I'll stand behind my 3 rating because of the confusions over track lists and titles.
