This has been one of the best purchases I have ever made. My mother's pressure-cooked meals always had that extra flavor, and this product delivers it with less fuss, even on my balcony! The only complaint I have that prevents me from giving five stars is the lack of insert baskets for steaming. Incidentally, I've donated my slow cooker to Goodwill, since this pot does excellent slow-cooked chicken stock after pressure-cooking the whole chicken in record-time.

Spectacular!
I have 4 aluminum and 2 stainless steel pressure cookers from all ranges of age and 4-6 qt size. This Fagor electric cooker is so much easier. I have used this cooker about 30 times with no leakage, spillage, or explosions. The cleanup is sweet. I hold it upside down and SPRAY IT WITH HOT WATER. I don't mean spray it for an hour either. I am used to getting out the steel wool and scrubbing for 20 mins every time I use a pressure cooker, not with this. I have used the brown feature, then without cleaning pressure cooked for an hour and still rinses clean. I have tried the rice feature once and it gave me rice that i would rate 9 out of 10 only because I let it over cook. The slow cook feature is a little slower than my crock pot but burn the sides much less. High temp just boils food. Temp is right on at 212. I was worried that being electric it would be a slow annoying piece of junk that we have come to expect out of our throw away world. I was surprised that it only takes a few minutes longer than the stove top versions to heat up. The best thing about this is that you don't have to fiddle with the stove all the time. Turn it on and let it go. I was kind of lost when I realized it didn't make any hissing noise or have any leaking pressure at all. Used to the giggle hiss weight. The book states it has 9 lbs of pressure on high and i am used to 15 with the stove top model. This seems to make cook time about 15% longer. I like to add 25% and have meats that fall apart. I have filled this unit just slightly over the full mark (stamped in the liner) and found that it still works fine although when i let the pressure out i had some slight spraying of the liquid i was cooking in (clearly my fault). The cookbook it comes with has unusually good recipes in it. I have tried the first 8 and one from the back lol. Kind of weird that the page numbers are off by one number throughout the whole book tho. As compared to the old stove top pressure cookers it is slightly slower at cooking. It slow cooks well, but again slightly slower (but more consistent) than my traditional crock pot. The removable non stick liner makes cleanup unimaginably easy. If i were to start the exact meal in this as a good old stove top style I think the food would be as good, and although it takes longer, the time would be made up by the time they were both clean.

This is probably the one essential kitchen appliance (except for a coffee pot of course). We use it all the time.
