This review is from: Fagor U Cook 7-Piece Deluxe Pressure Cooker Set (Kitchen)
This set is really easy to use and is worth the price, and I highly recommend it. The 18/10 stainless steel pots are heavy, durable, they perform well when searing, and cleaning them is a breeze (see manual for cleaning instructions). In addition to the pressure lid, the set includes a glass lid that fits both pots, a steamer basket with trivet, and a pasta basket. So the pots can be used for purposes other than pressure cooking. The set also includes a really nice recipe book and detailed instructions on use and care.
The pressure cooker lid is easy to lock, just line up the marks on the lid and handle, rotate the lid and lock it in place. I wasn't really clear on how to determine when the cooker is under pressure. The directions say when you see a steady stream of steam for the first time, reduce the heat to maintain it. However, when doing a trial run with just water in the pot, the cooker clearly wasn't under pressure when the first steady steam appeared, however, I followed the directions and lowered the heat but could still remove the lid after a few minutes. I checked to make sure the gasket was seated properly and that the lid was on correctly and tried it again with the same result. I let the water boil for a few minutes and removed it from the heat and turned the dial for quick release of pressure. No steam was released, and I could remove the lid so no pressure. For the next trial run, I waited until the indicator popped up over high heat, then lowered the heat. This time after removing the pot from the heat, steam was released when I set the dial to quick release. I have used the pressure cooker a few times now and wait until the indicator pops up before lowering the heat. The first thing I actually cooked was converted rice. I started timing when the indicator popped up and 10 minutes later (7 with pressure, 3 without) perfect fluffy rice! My next venture was chicken wings (10). I deep fried them in the 6 quart pot (no lid) until brown, poured off the oil, added 1/2 cup of water, placed the wings in the steamer basket, put the pressure lid on, and cooked them 5 minutes under pressure. I let the pressure release naturally before removing the wings from the pot which was about another 2-3 minutes. Seems like a lot for chicken wings but they were delicious! Let me add, DO NOT attempt to pressure fry chicken in hot oil in the pressure cooker! There are a lot of recipes on the internet that try to mimic the Kernel's fried chicken which is cooked under pressure but that's done using a commerical grade pressure FRYER. Pressure cookers like this one are not designed for pressure frying, and the results of boiling hot oil under pressure can be disastrous. If you decide to purchase this set or another, make sure you read all of the instructions and tips before using it. If you are new to pressure cooking and are a little apprehensive about the process like I was, you may want to either buy a book on the topic or check one out from the library. I started with the book by Lorna Sass, Pressure Perfect. The Jiffy Meatballs with Tomato Sauce is delicious!

My Mom has used a pressure cooker for years...one of the old fashioned ones with the jiggly weight on top. I had never given one much thought until recently. So after much research I bought this set. Now I wonder, "What took me so long?" The modern ones are so much more safe and the stainless steel ones are much lighter than the old cast aluminum ones.
This Fagor U Cook set is well designed and well thought out. It is the best of all pressure cooker worlds, everything is included you will probably need. Dual pressure, well made, large and small pots, can be used as a regular pot w/ glass lid, has the rack and insert baskets (one of which is also a grater), and the large pot fits inside the small one for storage. The included recipe book is a good for starters, but the internet is full of recipes, too. Yes, it has a learning curve, and yes, you better read the book before you start. No, it won't replace my microwave, crock pot, or oven, but it will always have a place on my stove. My results, so far, have been good. I only have a couple of "cons": First, the main handle is a bit too short and oddly shaped. I find it a bit awkward to hold with my ham hands. It is also a bit awkward to try and hold the spring latch and turn the lid to open it. Second, they recommend storing the lid upside down on top of the pot. The shape of the lid is such that it doesn't really sit upside down well, Overall I would buy this set again, and I would get it from Amazon again. I recommend it highly.

Just wanted to say that I've had this pressure cooker (mine is slightly older than this particular one)for a couple of years now. Not one week has gone by that we have not used it. It is so easy, cleans easily in dishwasher, and makes cooking time much faster. I can put a frozen pork boston butt in it and within an hour or so have pulled pork, very tender and falling apart. Even our friends have commented at how much we use it. If you are always in a hurry but love to cook home cooked meals for your family, this pressure cooker will help you out. It doesn't really take much to learn to use it, but do read the book. You can only fill with liquid about 2/3 full or it will spit out of the valve. I haven't had any problems and we have a gas range. From soup, chili and getting meat off the bones, this cooker does it all. The gasket has held up fine as well to the dishwasher without any noticable wear and tear. We bought the set with the 4 qt and 6 qt. They both get used with no problems. Fagor makes a quality product. Buying another set now for the In-laws.

I got this for Christmas and I have used it several times. Very very well made and heavy duty. I like the idea it has two lids and two cooking pots.
Strainer and more. Everything I have made turned out very well. I highly recommend this company as well. They stand behind their product. They are very friendly and helpful.

I live at a high altitude. This means I can cook beans all day, and they still won't get soft. I hate canned beans (don't like that tin flavor). This pressure cooker made all the difference in maintaining my vegetarian diet.
The pressure cooker works wonderfully. The pans are heavy, the two different lids mean that they are useful for more than just pressure. The pressure lid fits securely, goes on easily, and comes off just fine. The bonus steamer and pasta cooker are actually useful, too!

I hadn't owned a pressure cooker before this one though my mother always used one. I was looking for one to work on a new induction stove top and this filled the bill perfect. It is easy to use and I have found both the 4qt and 6qt sizes convenient for me and my cooking needs. I've made bean soups, short ribs as well as a couple of brisket of beef and corned beef with it and don't know why I waited so long to finally buy one. I've have found to fills my needs perfectly as well as being great quality of the pans.Fagor U Cook 7-Piece Deluxe Pressure Cooker Set

I purchased two 7-piece sets for my adult children for Christmas. (by their request(s)).
They could hardly wait to try them. Both reported on their first efforts at pressure cooking - and were pleased. The set is high quality, easy to use, and the extra pieces give it versatility. The short cooking times will really assist them in preparing good, wholesome food for their families in a shorter time. Having two pan sizes and the glass cover makes the set even better, since it will be used for more than pressure cooking, and not just take up cabinet space.

I used this product only 3-4 times and then it just stopped working. The pressure mechanism is totally broken. The steam does not stay inside, vegetables stick. It simply does not do what it is supposed to do. Poor quality. I strongly recommend you avoid and get another brand of pressure cooker.
