I originally bought this pot for a downsized RV kitchen, everything must be multi functional. But I just love this product. I now use it constantly. Unlike most steamers, the basket has a close weave so it will hold any type of pasta (except orzo). The quality is excellent, the size is just right for my needs, in fact the product is nearly perfect. It looses a star because the handles and lid knob get too hot too touch. There is no way a pot like this is going in the oven, so there is no reason not too have 'cool touch' handles. Buy it, you will love it.

The steamer is of good heavy quality; the basket has a close weave so it will hold average sized pasta and any vegetables; and the size can accomodate many cooking uses. I insert the basket inside the steamer and spray the inside with vegetable spray when I make pasta - cleanup is a snap!

This is a GREAT aspragus steamer, but also works well for HOT DOGS, other veggies, etc. It is a NICE size, also useable for boiling pasta, etc, with or without the strainer inside. I love the CLEAR lid so that I can monitor the steaming, too. VERY well made, EASY to use and easy to clean. Well worth adding to your cookware since it is not JUST an ordinary veggie steamer!

I'm afraid this didn't stay with me long. I was expecting an actual steamer. I'm sure this would have steamed crab legs and other seafood brilliantly, but I do not live on the coast and therefore don't cook a lot of seafood. Then I imagined that I could use it for a pasta cooker, but I don't want to have a lot of "one hit wonder" kitchen tools in my very small kitchen. So, overall, nice product, but wasn't what I was expecting, which was a vegetable steamer that's not plastic and doesn't have to be plugged up.
