This is the best toaster oven I've ever used.
Anna
I find myself not using the presets because as mentioned before I don't want to memorize the temperatures so I just set it manually which is easy enough.

I just received this toaster oven a few days ago. I've tried roasting a small chicken (~2lb) and it came out perfectly in rotisserie setting, about 50 minutes. I tried one sponge cake and came out moist. Can't wait to try other recipes.

I also have the Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven and here are my thoughts.
Fagor vs Breville
1. About 1" taller interior than Breville.
2. Sides are not burning hot like the Breville, but the tops are equally hot on both.
3. My first initial cake came out better than the Breville. I use aluminum pans and the bottom of the cake/bread from Breville came out slightly under cook. I need to cover with foil to solve the burning top problem.
4. The Breville makes the best toasts and bagels, evenly brown on both sides. Fagor is slightly under cook at the bottom, hence need to turn them over.
5. No preheat and Breville always preheat (it beeps when temp is reached).

Toaster arrived - so the first thing I did after removing it from the packaging was to make toast - it did a perfect job!! Next I decided to use the rotisserie - I was concerned that it would be awful to clean - but this thing is amazing…I cooked a 4 lb standing rib roast (directing say not to use more than 5 lbs) in record time and there was no mess on the top, sides, or back of the oven…all the juices dropped into the bottom tray - which I had covered with aluminum foil - clean up was a breeze…..roast was fantastic…I love this oven!!!

OK. My first toaster oven lasted over 30 years and I liked it a lot (turns out I loved it but didn't know until it was too late). It died because my son never cleaned the bottom and finally one day a fry caught on fire when he was using it. I went out and got another black and decker because the first one lasted so long. I hated that oven. The toast was terrible-it just sort of browned it without actually toasting it. Every time I went out for breakfast my friends never understood why I would order extra toast but I knew. It was because I was never able to get good toast at home. Plus it was a convection oven type and I was never able to fully adjust to the faster cooking times. I lowered the temp by 25 degrees and cooked it shorter amounts of time but the food never really came out stellar. A piece of it snapped off (that pulled the tray out when you opened the door) and consequently it wouldn't close tight at all. I started to do my research.

My first thought was Ok all the toaster ovens are going to be bad so I might as well get the cheapest one out there. I picked one up a a department store for 20 bucks. It had good reviews and I said ok done looking. But when I got it home I realized it wouldn't toast 6 english muffins at once and that is a necessity for me (english muffin pizza). So back it went. I looked at amazon and realized there are 100's of models. So first it had to be a 6 slice machine and then I knocked out anything that had an average customer rating of below 4.0.

With that done I knocked out b&d only because of my bad last experience. The usually suspects were left. The Brevilles, Cuisinets, Waring Pros, Osters and this Fagor were in my sights.

I like the look and the build quality seems good. I'm quite satisfied. There are a few minor items that might help others.

As mentioned in other reviews, the toast function does not work like most toasters. With heat coils on the bottom and quartz heaters on top, you get different results in the top and bottom of the toast. The top side gives a nice result. The bottom of the toast just gets lightly toasted. They should have the toaster heat the bottom coils longer before the quartz heaters kick in. I can see the bottom coils get barely red, so they are working, but they are less effective for toasting in the traditional sense due to the way the "toast" setting uses the heaters. I tried moving the shelf closer to the lower coils, but it didn't help much. On the plus side the "light, medium, and dark" settings for toast worked perfectly for the top of the bread. Overall it is not that big a deal and I get what I need from my toast.

Others have mentioned the cycle end "ding" being loud, but it doesn't seem much different than most appliances (or an egg timer). Not an issue for me.

As far as the fan is concerned. Others have mentioned how loud it runs. On mine is starts out slow and builds up after 15 seconds of so. You can hear it, but to me it is not offensive. It doesn't seem to be used for anything but keeping the display side (right side) of the unit cool. Perhaps it keeps the sides of the unit a bit cooler (but they are still hot). I can feel the air vented on the other side (left side) of the unit. It doesn't seem to be used in the cooking (like a convection oven feature).

I did notice an inconsistency in the way the rubber seal was applied around the opening.

Rotisserie works well and accommodates 4 -5 pound chicken nicely. Oven is well designed with easy clean up. Quite pleased with this product - it is compact and heats evenly. A great addition to the kitchen.
