About the Author

Professor E. E. Gdoutos is Director of the Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Director of the Section of Design and Construction of Structures, Department of Civil Engineering, the Democritus University of Thrace. He is visiting Professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara and Davis; the Michigan Technological University; the National Technical University of Athens; and the University of Toledo. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, Applied Composite Materials, and Advanced Composite Letters. Gdoutos is Fellow of ASME, and received the Distinguished Visiting Professorship Award from Toledo University in 1992. A member of the Structures and Materials Panel of AGARD since 1992, he serves on the Research Board of Advisors; is Fellow of the American Biographical Institute; and is Vice-Chairman of the Research Committee of the Democritus University of Thrace. He is listed in Who’s Who in the World, 8th-14th editions. Dr. K. Pilakoutas is Reader in Civil Engineering at Sheffield University and Manager of the Centre for Cement and Concrete. He is a Registered Engineer in Cyprus, and is a member of the Society for Earthquake and Civil Engineering Dynamics; Institution of Civil Engineers; American Concrete Institute; and the Committee Euro International du Beton. Dr. C. A. Rodopoulos is recognized worldwide as an expert in the failure analysis of composite materials. He is Research Associate at the Structural Integrity Research Institute, University of Sheffield, (SIRIUS), and fellow member of the Composite Research Group. He received two research awards from the EU, and holds memberships in ASME, SAE, ASTM, AIAA, ESIS. The author of dozens of scientific and technical papers published in national and international journals, he is on the advisory board of National Technical Publications of Greece and is listed in Who's Who in the World.

Dissapointing. Hardly any photos. Some good info so worth consulting but prob not buying. Far better & highly recommended is Failure Analysis & Fractography of Polymer Composites.
