This movie isn't really that bad.

Although the plot is weak, the acting even weaker, the action scenes are excellent.

William Baldwin gives his typical performance: not great, not horrible.

I am amazed that this movie got an average of 2 1/2 stars. It was a very entertaining movie and Cindy Crawford was ok. Why she was rated so harshly to me was nothing but mob hysteria. We are supposed to not like her so I will join the crowd. We tend to view Julie Roberts with awe when she has been horrible in some movies. We buy bumper stickers for which ever team won the super bowl because we want to be a winner. So, we castigated this movie when it was definitely better than most of the movies that have been released during the last 3 years. We are like sheep we must join the crowd.

Fair Game was definitely better than average. I rated it 5 stars because I liked it. I loved cutting edge, Jerry Maguire, For Love of the Game, and Tin Cup. I hated lots of Jodi Foster movies but we are supposed to roll our eyes and love her then crucify Cindy Crawford when she was actually Ok in Fair Game. Isn't a bigot somebody that makes decisions on emotions to be part of the crowd? Are there movie bigots?

Cindy Crawford has long been one of my favorite models. However, that talent is unrelated to acting and sheer star power won't carry the day.
Cindy's portrayal of a KGB-chased, short-skirted lawyer was, well...not good. On several levels. The character was written paper thin and Cindy's ability to make herself believable was nonexistent. I'm sure she tried hard, as did Mr. Baldwin, who seemed more like an acting coach trying to save scenes than a costar. The plot was by the numbers, the pyrotechnics only so-so and the stunt sequences were beyond any credibility.
Unfortunately for us and her, Cindy's performance was the worst in my memory. But now I'm told a new low was reached by Denise Richards in "The World is Not Enough". But that's another story.

Sure, Cindy, you're pretty and all, but please--we prefer you when we don't have to hear you. I'd much rather see you for 5 seconds on the cover of Vogue than spend an 1 hour feeling embarrassed for you on the big screen.

Well, there was a nude scene, if we look at the good points. Oh, heck! It was impressively poor, so it can't be a dissappointment. I mean, what could you expect!

Among the low-lights of this sorry action movie scripted by a dead-monkey's feces, Cindy Crawford outruns and jumps on to a speeding train. Meanwhile, Billy Baldwin is going about 80 on a car and can't catch up to the train! Cindy has some legs to be able to run about 100 miles per hour. Come on, we've come far enough that movies should not have unintentional mistakes in them. This one will remind you of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" only not quite as cerebral. Add the business-as-usual action, the unbelievable (as in bad) acting, especially from the supermodel, and the fact that it is just plain BORING. Cindy'll never work for Hollywood again. (hopefully)

I like Cindy Crawford. I really do. I respect the class she has maintained in an often classless fashion and modeling industry. But some people should stick to what they know.
Cindy, my God! In this movie, you were just in your lovely apartment overlooking the water. Your apartment is then blown up, you are blown off the balcony into the water, your cat is toast and all your possessions are gone. Oh, and by the way, a bunch of very bad people are now trying to shoot you dead. You get out of the cold water, run for your life and get taken to a safe house where the 2nd rate Baldwin asks you `So, how do you feel?' And Cindy says with the intensity of a heroin addict, `Like my life just exploded. What is this place, Motel Hell?' She said it like she was reading the phone book! A real actress would have been looking at the cop like he was nuts! And she would have delivered the lines accordingly. It gets worse...
Did you see the very first scene in the movie where Cindy's character is jogging and gets shot? Did you notice her slowing down to hit her mark and wait for the shot? I've never heard or seen anyone more stilted and lifeless except for a really bored telemarketer.
The writing was just BAD, and the movie was just about look how good Cindy looks after being dumped in water and having no shower. Notice her lips still had color? Did they have the long-lasting stuff back then?
Luckily it wasn't the kind of bad where you can't sit and laugh at it. You can sit and laugh at this one. In fact, you don't have a choice.

This "thing" shouldn't even had been called a "movie", so bad it is! MAybe if you watch it as a comedy about action movies, you'll enjoy it a little bit.
