Book Description

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall,
Who is the Fairest of them all?
In the sequel to UnEnchanted, Mina Grime discovers that all is not fair when it comes to the Fae and their tales, especially when they don’t all play by the rules. Barely surviving the Story’s first fairy tale quest, Mina still has hundreds to go before she can end the curse on her family. But a new player arises to challenge Mina while new rules revamp the game she has just barely begun to understand.
All the while, people are mysteriously disappearing, including Jared, whom Mina must finally determine to be friend or foe. And with the loss of her greatest weapon, Mina must try to outwit a lethal hunter. Can Mina survive the most difficult quest yet while protecting those she loves from falling victim to one of the deadliest tales of all? Or will she become a pawn when she strikes a bargain with the Queen of Fae?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good tale June 23, 2012

First let me say, that this book was much better proofed and edited than the first one. THANK YOU, Chanda Hahn for listening to the reviews.

Second, this book is a nice sequel to the first. I did start of a little slowly for me, but once the story decided to implement the quest, it picked up dramatically.

There are unexpected twists and turns and maybe a little bit of predictability for some. I figured out the Grimoire mystery in book one and part of the way through book 2 I figured out the story mystery, but it was nice to have my hypothesis proven correct.

I really enjoyed the characters in this story and although I am done to death with ANY love triangles, I didn't really mind this one. It made the story more interesting for me.

Can't wait for the next one. Hurry up, Chanda Hahn!! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional for Price June 28, 2012

I downloaded the first book in the series because it was free and it seemed to be worth the time (also had a great cover). I bought the second book in the series because it was just that good. A very easy and carefree read, the dialogue is charming and the story is strong. Occasionally, the characters can be frustrating with their mood swings and almost mercurial demeanors but then you realize that they are teenagers and that the reason they are frustrating to read about is the same reason why they can be difficult to deal with in real life, so it all works out. It was a quick read and while the greedy reader in me would have loved for the author to add more details (just so that I had more to read) its length did not take away from the story. You normally don't find such a great book at this price ($2.99 at the time of purchase) so kudos to the author.

If you like the idea of the whole Story (with capital 's') being a sentient force that seeks to turn events and characters to fit its will I also suggest the Fairy Tale series of Mercedes Lackey. Same general idea but is set in a mythical world rather than contemporary.
