As for the odor and taste another reviewer complained about, I did get one bottle around the same time as her review that had a strong smell, but they don't always smell that way. I assumed that because of the all natural vegetable dyes that are used there must have been a "stronger smelling" batch. My next bottle was fine.
I researched what vitamins and what amounts a pregnant woman needs and then went looking for a product that met my findings--I then became extremely frustrated.... Until I found this brand.
Some people have written negative reviews on this product based on factors I consider inconsequential, such as size of the tablet, smell, etc. While it's true that if you can't stand to take it it's not going to do any good at all, I sincerely hope no one is discouraged from this brand because of those reviews because from the research I did, this is the BEST prenatal vitamin on the market. It has the right types of vitamins, in the right amounts, and no extra stuff like colorings or herbs, which are not beneficial.
And I can tell you from experience, having taken this brand every day of my last pregnancy, these pills were very easy for me to take (size and shape of a pumpkin seed), and they're not any smellier than any other vitamins. I had mild nausea through about 24 weeks, and I could easily stomach these. Steamed broccoli? No. These vitamins, piece of cake.
Whatever you do, please try to find a prenatal vitamin that has beta carotene as the source of vitamin A and preferably less than 100% daily recommended allowance.
God bless! :-)
The vitamins do have a vitamin odor, but I never smell or taste them after taking them. Even with morning sickness I was able to tolerate these. Since I only need to take one a day, it is very easy to remember to take. I have ordered these more than once. The vendor I received them from packed them well and they arrived quickly.
I bought this product because it seemed the safest, easiest, best absorbed by the body, and did not require me to take it a million times a day. I was a little scared, given other reviews that it would be too strong and make me nauseous. That's simply not the case. I feel like if you were used to taking a simple multi-vitamin before you TTC, you'll be fine with this product. The added perk is the price. Given how great this product is (and the hooplah on other competing vitamins that charge an arm and a leg), i'm pretty thrilled that the price is reasonable. Ensures that I'll keep on purchasing.
