My mother bought this for my 5-mo daughter and we both exclaimed that it was the kind of book we would've loved as a little girl. Mum wanted to put it away until she was older to protect it, but we decided it could be viewed under strict supervision (I let her read a "chewable" book after this one!) DD seems to enjoy turning the sturdy thick pages and touching the bits of sparkly padded fabric and shiny paper parts and I enjoy reading it with her. The pages are full of color and activity as beautifully illustrated fairies get up to various antics - painting fruit and creating snowflakes, finally putting the stars in the night sky and making sure children are asleep (apart from a mischievous fairy who is tickling the child's nose with a feather). I have just purchased Usborne's /Mermaids/ for my 4-yr goddess-daughter, and I trust it is just as whimsical and fun. I think you might find your little girl peeking under leaves to see if there is a fairy hiding there after reading/looking at this very special book which I believe will continue to provide stimulation and amusement for many years.

This is a great book for toddlers, very cute pictures, sparkly accents and cute story!

This is a great book. Each page has lots of different things to touch and feel. The pages are very thick and durable. The text is cute and I don't get tired of having to read it over and over to my 18 month old.

This really is a beautiful book and a favorite of my daughters when she was 1 & 2 yrs old. She is 4 now and she still enjoys looking at the pictures and touching everything. The book has held up extremely well and still looks practically new.

My one-year-old granddaughter adores this book! It's her favorite, and she loves books in general. It is such a pretty book, too. This is one of the best gift purchases I have made. Usborne does it again.

What a darling book. I bought this book for a 5 year old little girl who is vision impaired. The textures and colors enhance her ability to experience this lovely story about fairies.

I love all USBorne with the touch/feel aspect. They're extremely durable where as every other touch/feel type book I've purchased has been torn within a day or two by one of my two children. I do not know if it's just my particular children but they have not been as engrossed by this as the trucks or the farm USBorne. I didn't drop the star rating from 5 because it could definitely be a preference, but if you're wondering which to buy, I would opt for the truck or farm since those have held the interest of both my children for the longest time and this one as well as the dinosaur & mermaid one is only a passing interest on a rare occasion.

I bought this for my daughter when she was 8 months old and she's still reading it at 2 1/2 years. The book is well made, sturdy, educational and oh so cute! It grows with your child (although I also believe that it is up to the parent to keep a child interested in any book). As a baby, she loved the textures and the colors. As she grew a little older, the textures and colors still called to her but she also enjoyed using it as a 'look and find' book (can you find the snow man?) and learning new words (toadstool, dandelion). A little more older and she enjoys counting (how many ladybugs can you find?) and telling me what's going on in each page. It really helps little imaginations! She doesn't read this book everyday now but when she does take it out (about once a week) she will pore over it for a long while, there are just so many things to look at. Apart from being a good learning book, it is also a cute, whimsical book and, I think, a good keepsake. After all, who doesn't love fairies?

My 20-month old daughter loves this book! She scratches all the different textures and then points out the items that are the same on each page, like finding all the ladybugs on the page. It is just such a beautiful, colorful, sparkly book that I love that she wants to read it all the time.

This is the most amazing book you can get. Every page is laden with great glittery contents as well as touch and feel sensations. My one year old reads this every single day. This is a fabulous book.
