Book Description

March 15, 2004
Myrtle, Fern and Blossom have finally stepped over the line. Bernie, in charge of the Fairy Council this century, sentences them to live as humans for the next six months. Not only that, he strips away their facades and rather than the older-lady personas they've grown used to over the centuries, he sends them back to their true forms.  They're babes.  Super hot women guaranteed to make any man stand up and notice.

Three fairies, stripped of most of their powers and thrust on unsuspecting mortals? Life is going to get interesting.

Not all the mortals are quite so unsuspecting. The entire Aaronson clan has dealt with the fairies before, and all three siblings have the fairies to thank for their happy marriages. They help where they can, as does Fiona, another one time goddaughter.  But this ordeal is something each fairy must experience on her own.  For the first time ever  the three fairies--uh, women-- find themselves on independent paths that collide with three different men.  Men who teach Myrtle, Fern and Blossom about a magic that has nothing to do with fairy-ness, and everything to do with love.

In the end, Myrtle, Fern and Blossom find love and must decide what to do...should they return to Fairyland when their sentence is over and forget the men who have touched them, or should they throw aside their previous lives and build new ones with the men they love?

Fans of Ms. Fuhrmann's fairy godmother series will be more then satisfied with this, the conclusion to the story.

Fern, Myrtle, and Blossom have been fairy godmothers forever, their most recent successes being with the Aaronson family of Erie, PA. When they are condemned to life as humans, with none of their powers to help, things get very interesting for them. Though their methods have always been unorthodox, they've never failed one of their charges. Now they are the charges, and they are in for a surprise. The grandmotherly personas they've adopted to make their jobs easier have also been stripped away, and the three are in their true forms, drop dead gorgeous women!

The next six months proves to be an eye-opening experience for all of them. They each find new things to do that they enjoy, as individuals rather then a team. Their new lives also bring them the one thing they've never had, their own special kind of love with wonderful men to bring them the happy-ever-afters always granted to others. But what will Blossom, Fern, and Myrtle choose when their time is up? Will they continue to live in this world with the men they love, or will they go back to Fairyland and the lives they've always known?

As always, Ms. Fuhrmann charms her readers with a delightful story, full of her trademark wit and humor. Each of the three sisters are unique individuals and the paths they choose to take, as well as the men they come to love reflect that. What is interesting to this reviewer, is that there almost seems to be a change in the three, as to which of them is the strongest. The one who always came across as the least strong, the least independent before shows her true colors in this book and lets everyone see just of what she really is made.

The three stories in this book totally intertwine, as well as keeping their uniqueness, through to the end of the book. The men they fall for are perfect complements to them, and there is even a cute surprise at the end. Anyone who has read the first three books in this series will love how those characters come back to visit in this book. Whether new fans of the series or old ones, this story is guaranteed to please one and all. Be sure to get a copy today and see how the indomitable fairy godmothers three get the happiness they've long deserved.

5.0 out of 5 stars A charmer, August 4, 2004
This review is from: Fairly Human (Paperback)
Bernie has been appointed head of the Fairy Godmother bureau of Fairyland. He is elated with his assignment not so much because of the power imbued in his position (though that is nice), but because he can finally pound those three pain in the butts who somehow always succeed, Blossom, Fern and Myrtle. No Beltane Festival for these nuisances for he has an assignment for them that pleases him almost as much as his new wife does. Having obtained approval from the council, Bernie informs the trio they are being punished for breaking the rules. They will live as mortals among mortals for six months without magic and as their true selves, beautiful young women, not elderly godmothers.

They journey to Erie, Pennsylvania to live near the Aaronsons; a family they have helped in the past. The Aaronsons are pleased to see the trio, but a bit taken aback by their true form. In the big city, they find employment and soon have males wanting to date them. They enjoy their human stay, but that begs to ask what happens when their sentence ends. Will they choose the magic of Fairyland or the enchantment of Erie?

FAIRLY HUMAN is a terrific fantasy that hooks fans of the genre especially those of Holly Fuhrmann with a neat twist to end her enchanting fairy godmother novels by having the stories of the three heroines told. As usual in a Ms. Fuhrmann novel, the impossible seems possible and real as the key cast feels genuine including Bernie and his lovely spouse. The support characters feel like homecoming for those who have tasted the previous fantastic novels. Once again readers will be charmed.
