I do believe in fairies! I do! I do!,

This review is from: The Fairy Bible: The Definitive Guide to the World of Fairies (Paperback)
Once again, another spectacular book from the bible series. I found this book to be absolutely delightful, if not a bit educational. I have read other books on fairies and actually already knew most of what I found in this book; however, I am still glad to have added it to my collection as it is perfect for loaning out to beginners and for quick reference. Though the intent of the text is to teach people how to incorporate the Fair Folk into their lives and work with them as spiritual companions, the bulk of the book is dedicated to fairy lore from various cultures, making it a good read even for people with no interest in contacting the Good People. Overall, the book has a new age, feel good vibe to it with definite Pagan undertones. I liked a lot of the author's ideas for connecting with the fairies, like creating fairy altars, and I think people of any faith can put them to use. The only problem I had, which is why this book gets four stars instead of five, is that the author completely overlooks the dangerous side of the Fae and gives no information about the rules of proper human-fay etiquette. Other than that, this book is a great addition to the library of any fairyphile or fan of the series.

Beautiful and Informative,
This review is from: The Fairy Bible: The Definitive Guide to the World of Fairies (Paperback)
i recently purchased the Fairy Bible just because it perked my interests. i wasn't expecting much, but once I opened it and flipped though it, i realized it was put together extremely well. There are sections on all types of the faye- water, earth, fire, house, air, etc. So if you'd like to learn about a certain one, you can just flip to the certain chapter! :) Not only is it organized well, it's written well. It doesn't speak to you like you're stupid, but it doesn't use words no one understands either. It keeps things interesting. the entire book is extremely informative, and I learned soooo much! <3 The best thing is you can read a bit every day and learn something new every time you open the book. :D

Beautiful Artwork!,

This review is from: The Fairy Bible: The Definitive Guide to the World of Fairies (Paperback)
I first of all have to say the artwork in this book is simply fantastic! It is put together in an easy to read and informative style, however when I hear the word "bible" about something, I expect there to be everything I need to know about said subject. That being said, I guess I was hoping for more of an encyclopedia. Don't get me wrong, I love the book, I just feel it is lacking in the amount of different types of fairies one can learn about. I would buy it again, but if you're looking for a book filled with as many fairies as you can imagine with descriptions of each one, I'd lean more towards an encyclopedia of sorts.
