Super Fantasy for Kids Too Young for Harry Potter,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Fairy Called Hilary (Hardcover)
A super fantasy for children who are a bit too young for Harry Potter. A great read-aloud, but also a book most elementary kids can handle on their own. Charming, full of imagination, and laugh-out-loud humor. Children who I've given this book are eager to read it again and again. Will there be a sequel?

A Girl and a Fairy,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A Fairy Called Hilary (Paperback)
I enjoyed the book, A Fairy Called Hilary, very much. I liked how the author used words that made me feel "I must go on." Every chapter was a story about Caroline and a fairy, Hilary. The story was about a girl and a fairy who lived with Caroline's mom and dad.One day Hilary just appeared in the back seat of a cr with Caroline.Hilary wanted to go to the museum with Caroline's family. If you like to read fiction, then you must take time to read this book.

I'm surprised by the tepid editorial reviews. This book was deftly written, with a light-hearted wit that was never cloying. My seven-year-old daughter enjoyed it greatly.

What a magnificent book! My daughter is only two years old and is captivated by the illustrations. I cannot wait to see her reaction when she is older and can read this precious book.

This review is from: A Fairy Called Hilary (Hardcover)
My daughter is five and is spellbound by this book. A wonderful mix of fantasy and magic brought home to the life of a little girl and her cat. The illustrations are simple and effective. I am now going to look for other titles by this author. Bravo!!

--Caroline is asking her parents if they believe in fairies on the way to the local museum when one appears in the back of the car! Her name is Hillary, and though she doesn't have wings and looks like a normal girl, she does indeed prove to be a fairy. --The family's months with Hillary are well portrayed in this fun and lively story. --Marisa
