Book Description

June 29, 2003
From the ancient Genii of the Middle East to the Fairy Piper of Scotland, fairy-folk and spirits have appeared in every culture since ancient times. What most of these magical beings have in common are wisdom, energy and the power to enchant their human counterparts.

This pack allow mere mortals to know these remarkable qualities in ways that benefit personal development, help solve problems and even give a glimpse into the future.

The pack contains a set of beautifully illustrated cards depicting more than forty fairies. It works on the same princiiple as a tarot deck. Each card has a specific meaning, relating to the lesson that each fairy has to teach through their story. The companion book explains how to lay out the cards and then interpret them. It also provides information about each fairy, a story connected with that fairy, self-development exercises and meditation/visualization activities.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Irresistible Book and Deck Set, August 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Fairy Pack (Paperback)
The Fairy Pack highlights the wisdom of fairies and how they can help you with personal transformation. The deck is divided into four suits based on the elements - earth, water, fire, and air. There are ten fairies in each suit, including an elemental fairy and a fairy ruler for each. There are two additional cards in the deck - a rainbow fairy who embraces all the elements and a card repersenting the unmanifest. Though most of the fairies represented come from European traditions, five cards include fairies from Japanese, Middle Eastern, West African, Egyptian, and Native American traditions.
The cards are printed on thin, non-glossy stock, and the edges are sharp; however, this sharpness should wear away with use. The colors are soft and soothing. The artwork is slightly flat but very pretty. The fairies seem somewhat stiff and some of them bear a striking resemblance to others in the deck, but all in all the artwork is lovely and pure.
The book itself is beautiful with color illustrations of each of the cards. The right border of each page is also softly decorated with a design that represents each of the elements. The book provides a wonderful introduction to spirituality, meditation, and consulting oracles as well as some basics for attracting and working with fairies. Two pages dedicated to each card include the fairy's element, tradition, plant or herb, time of day, lesson, upright and reversed interpretations, and a magical task to help you invite a particular fairy's assistance or experience the lesson it brings. These tasks range from visualizations and meditations to spells to making altars to walks in nature , making charms, writing or baking. Five card spreads are presented for doing readings.
The book also includes a bit of information on angels and how invoking them along with your own guardian fairy can help you work safely with fairies. Face it - some fairy decks include some scary fairies! Some other decks present fairies as though only the cute, kindly, and wispy ones existed. The Fairy Pack strikes a nice balance, representing fairies as powerful beings who, when respected, can help us in tremendous ways and also teach us significant lessons. None of the artwork is this deck is frightening to look at, but the book does not deny that there are fairy energies with which we must exercise caution. This approach is helpful for those who may have been scared off from working with fairies altogether but who would still like to benefit from the wisdom of fairies. The Fairy Pack is an excellent meditation aid. I recommend it to people interested in learning about spirituality and fairies in a gentle way and also for those working through healing and recovery issues.
The Fairy Pack is for anyone who wants to know what it is like to be touched by a fairy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pack to Ponder, November 3, 2006

Dawn Killen-Courtney (St. Louis Park,, MN United States) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Fairy Pack (Paperback)
If you, like me, think that because you may own Anna Franklin's Fairy Ring deck, or the Froud Faerie's Oracle, you don't need another, be ready to be surprised and deeply moved. Not that I would trade my Anna Franklin set, but each of these sets resonates in quite a different way. The Fairy Pack, I have a feeling, is infused with deep love and respect and knowledge gained from far meditational and visionary travel to the Realm, and for me instills the notion that I can safely travel farther there than I have before. I really have deep respect for Claire Nahmad's vision, and have since I was given her _The Enchanted Garden_ (written under the pen name Claire O'Rush)many years ago. Seems she has arrived at a fullness of wisdom and understanding with this deck and book.

The only complaint, or thing I cannot grasp with this set, is that she uses correspondences different from any faery tradition I have ever studied. What I have always learned is that East = Air, South = Fire, West = Water and North = Earth. She has it as East = Fire, South = Water, West = Earth, and North = Air! I have never seen the directional/elemental correspondences done in this way before and I am so immersed in my old training that I have great difficulty envisioning it any other way. Everything else is, well, just about perfect to me. The way the book is laid out, the way the art from the cards is used within the book, the cards themselves work well for me visually, and anyway, the more I use both decks, Franklin's and hers, the more I know they are only keys through to doors into the Realm. In conclusion, I am infused with the love and respect she feels for the fae realm each time I dip into this set, and feel it will be a companion along my journey for many years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great deck!, July 31, 2006
By
This review is from: Fairy Pack (Paperback)
One of the best fairy-related decks out there, it definitely doesn't get the attention it deserves. The cards are beautifully illustrated, and you get fairies from different cultures, which makes this deck pretty universal. The cards are divided in four elements!
The books, that's full-color, comes with a pictures of the card, the meaning, the symbolism, the story of the fairy and with a little practice...something to do in order to get in touch with these marvellous creatures, or to overcome any difficult situations! It also teaches spreads and gives tips on how to contact fairies...

A complete book and deck, that come in a handsome and resistant box, which allows you to carry it everywhere without fear! I definitely recomment it!
