This is the perfect CD for meditation. The melodies are soft, "fairy" light, and spiritual, with uplifting emotional tones. My pet peeve is a CD which starts out soft and melodic, then becomes bouncy or harsh (sharp flutes) or loud (bagpipes) just as I am getting deep into meditation. Rowland has a gift for creating a variety in his different pieces without destroying the mood. I can almost see the faries dancing around the ring with their spiritual lights flickering and glimmering in the soft moonlight. Wonderful for meditation or drifting off to sleep.

I'm a classical music lover who hasn't been impressed very much by most New Age music. Then my wife exposed me to The Fairy Ring and I immediately fell in love with it. I love it so much that I bought two copies -- one for home and one for work. I can't give it a higher recommendation. If you want beautiful music to relax to, you can't do better than this very special CD.

There is not much I can say about Mike Rowland music. Simple melodic piano tunes with synthesizer strings. I like it and it's the reason I bought it.

I originally had bought the "Fairy Ring" on tape, and quite recently I decided to buy it on CD too, to enjoy it on my just bought, multi $$$ thousand stereo system. The man who remastered the recording however (if anyone did at all), must have been deaf. The CD sounds as bad as(if not worse than) my worn-out tape cassete. I was thinking of buying "Titania" too on CD, but I probably won't after that. That's too bad for the music cause I honestly think it's worth it. I hope the "Fairy Ring Suite" sounds better.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't enjoy his music either! I gave this cd to a friend, who enjoyed it immensely, for it's soft, relaxing tone. He has been in and out of the hospital for heart problems, and this music has soothed him many times. It helps him sleep - which is not to say it's boring, and will put you right to sleep! But, it's just so soothing, that it relaxes your tense nerves after a long day at the office, school, home, etc. It's simple, beautiful music to savor and enjoy over and over.

I have worn out three copies of this CD since I first bought it in 1992. It is the most peaceful and most beautiful of any meditation CD I have ever heard.

I would even hesitate to call this New Age music because so much of that seems to have no real substance to me (no offense intended to fans of the style), but Mr. Rowland's music is unique in that he expresses feelings in as clear a manner as I have ever heard. It seems that nothing in the music comes between the listener and these pure, blissful feelings. There's plenty of spiritual joy in there. I would recommend this CD to ANYONE who is open to new and full experiences.

As an infant, this CD was played to me every evening while I fell asleep. 17 years later, it is still my favorite recording of all time. It is very spiritual and envokes great emotion within me. I recommend this CD to everyone, as it is an incredibly powerful recording. Incredibly melodic piano tones soaring above a resonating synthesizer tone. I am not remotely interested in this genre of music, yet this recording is truly amazing to me.

I was introduced to Mike Rowland through a freind. His music in The Fairy Ring provides that special moment of experiencing all the wonderful senses a human can feel - all at the same time. His music has found a special place in my life.. If you are looking for meditative music, but not have found one. Try this!!!!

I first heard this album many years ago, and have exhausted many audio tape versions of it. I had to have it on CD for our modern times, as I have missed it in my collection. I find it very balancing and relaxing, especially when I am not feeling too well or if I am upset in some way. This is great music to listen to anytime to relax and calm yourself.

I have enjoyed many musical items for relaxation and simple enjoyment but have
never found one quite like The Fairy Ring by Mike Rowland. It's great for
background while studying, meditating, driving in heavy traffic, etc. or
for just plain listening. I have been enjoying this for 20 years and have
2 much-worn cassettes and now have the CD. I also play it to go to sleep.
