4.0 out of 5 stars Whatever happened to...?
I really hate it when this happens. An artist releases two dope songs and then drops off the face of the Earth. The soulful R&B trio Divine took their song "Lately" all the way to #1 in 1998, but did anyone pick up their album? No, and I can't understand it.

Although "Lately" is arguably the best song on the album, none of the other songs are really worth skipping...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice CD, but could have had a great potential to be a top cd
The harmony is excellant on the cd and the overall songs but not much for a classic cd. Good to listen to and shows the potential they have to become big if they get some more nice r&b grooves.

I really hate it when this happens. An artist releases two dope songs and then drops off the face of the Earth. The soulful R&B trio Divine took their song "Lately" all the way to #1 in 1998, but did anyone pick up their album? No, and I can't understand it.

Although "Lately" is arguably the best song on the album, none of the other songs are really worth skipping. There are other great ballads like "I Wish" and "Sweet Essence" (the latter was written and produced by then-unknown India.Arie), and their cover of George Michael's "One More Try" is brilliant. The ladies also bring their soulful harmonies to fast songs like "Good `N Plenty", but don't worry; the songs still work.

Some of the lyrics in the fast songs may come off a little corny at times, but that doesn't get in the way of this great album. Listen to it and you'll see.

5.0 out of 5 stars It' Romantic!!!, October 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Fairy Tales (Audio CD)
The first time I heard the song "Lately" on BET "Midnight Love". I was attached to the song right away. That song really touch me because I just recover myself in a painful relationship. The song has a lot of meaning. It's very Romantic!!! I can't wait to get the album. I'm pretty sure that the rest of the songs in the album are good. I recommend this CD to all music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and Soothing, November 8, 2009
This review is from: Fairy Tales (Audio CD)
I tell you, this album was one of my favorites. Sweet Essence could have been their next single. Their remake of One more try was excellent. I Wish was beautiful. These girls provided the sweet and soothing songs along with the ones that made you bob a little. I was teenager at the time; a hopeful romantic even then and fairy tales fed right into that. I loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Album - Ratings from Jamaica, September 2, 2008
This review is from: Fairy Tales (Audio CD)
They did really good in Jamaica. Even now you can go out in Jamaica and their songs are still being played. I really enjoyed their music and hoped to hear more from them.

It's a shame that they dissappear off the market and nobody knows where they are, or who's doing what. It would be good if they let people know what's happening to them and what went wrong, cause they still have fans.

God Bless Them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Divine Fairy Tales. Very cute girl group., February 7, 2008
By
This review is from: Fairy Tales (Audio CD)
Divine Fairy Tales CD came out late 1998. This one is worth keeping. These cuties only came out this title "Fairy Tales". The songs are beautiful. Lately is very beautiful. I'll still listen to them. I love Divine and I wish that they had came with a few more. By 2001, the girls had disappeared for good. A girl group of late 1990's like Divine is worth keeping in your archives.

I HAVE LISTENED TO SOME OF THEIR INTERVIEW'S ON RADIO STATIONS AND ON T.V. I KNOW FOR SURE THAT KIA LIED ABOUT HER AGE. DO NOT GET ME WRONG THERE IS SOME TALENT IN THIS GROUP. MY FAVORITE SINGER OUT OF IT IS THE ONE WITH THE SHORT HAIR, SHE SPEAKS VERY WELL AND SHE CARRIES HERSELF WELL. FIVE STARS TO HER AND 0 FOR KIA.

I bought this CD after 2 singles came out that I liked. I really liked One More Try that they remade from George Michael. some songs like #5 and sweet Essence are good, but some are kinda weird. All in all, it was okay.
