A close friend of my son's had purchased this CD and brought it with her when she visited him from out of state. I saw it at his house and asked if I could borrow it as I was intrigued by the name and the cover. The next day I played it in my car, and after just a few moments of hearing it, I found myself drawn into the mystry of the music. I was completely entranced, and kept playing it over and over. I just had to have it, so bought another one for my son's friend. But I found myself telling my sister about it, because I knew she would love it, and gave her the one I had replaced. I again replaced it, but ended up giving it to another friend who I knew would love it! I have never bought so many copies of a CD without having one! Finally I purchased yet another copy to replace the one I borrowed, keeping the original for myself. I still just love this music. I have the other CD's by this artist, but I like this one the best because it is purely instrumental. Don't misunderstand - the others are great. I just like this one BEST. It takes me away to magical places, lets my imagination soar and encourages exploration of conceivable possibilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and spiritually nourishing music., November 13, 1998

My name is Scott Thom and I was asked by Gary Stadler to illustrate his album cover. After listening to two of the production rough cuts, I was so inspired, images flooded my visual cortex. I settled on the image you see on the cd cover. Gary's music is inspiring and spiritually nourishing, to say nothing of erotic and exciting. Add to this the fact that Gary is a wonderful giving person, as this musical offering so aptly illustrates.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting,Breathtaking., October 3, 2000
This review is from: Fairy of the Woods (Audio CD)
I heard this from my Mom who also likes New Age music. I instantly loved it and got the cassette for myself. It is a very beautiful, sweet and enchanting listen. It 'twinkles' around the listener and uplifts the heart and soul. When you close your eyes, you can SEE the moonlit,fog-enshrouded forest and the shimmering, dancing faeries.

Another great album to hear like this one: 2002:River of Stars.

This is an all synth instumental new age album. The sounds are synth keyboard, harp, and chorus. The compositions are interesting and pleasant for the most part. This cd does a great job at setting a consistent feeling. The major weaknesses of this album is that too many of the songs are dominated by very high pitch (as in the edge of human hearing)sounds for the melody and many of the synth sounds are, to my ear, cheap sounding - as if they were played on a low end 80's Casio. Still, most of the album is likeable. The notes mention that he was inspired by Enya, whose synth washes he obviously is trying to emulate, and Mckennitt, whose influences I heard nothing of on this album. I would love to have have heard these songs done on acoustic instuments or the very least some decent sampled sounds. Worth owning if you are a fan of etheral New Age and are not overly picky about the quality of the voicing.

I had the immense good fortune to be gifted with this album for my birthday, and after listening to it, sought out and purchased "Fairy Nightsongs" as well. The music, all instrumental, is absolutely spellbinding. There is definately something magical about this one!

If you like fairies, faeries or magick or magick ;-) this CD is good to have in your collection.

What I love about this CD is that there is just music, so you can fall asleep to it- or have guests over without them going "what in god's name are you listening to?!" It's very light and airy - you can feel the AIR in this CD and I love it. It definitely reminds you of fairies, and if you love them as much as I do by collecting, painting, drawing or admiring them this CD will help you get in the fairy/faery mood!

If you like my review please vote for it - any questions, IM me at WinterGetsMe. Have a great day!

My father brought this album home with him for me after a business trip. He got it in a new age store and purchased it simply because he thought the cover was neat-looking. I popped it in the CD player and fell in love instantly. This is my #1 studying, relaxing, falling asleep CD. Anytime you need to relax and take your mind of things, let these magical melodies take over. My favorite tracks are #2 and #8. #2 always conjurs up a vision - a magical toy store where the toys come to life after the shop has closed. Buy this CD now, you won't be disappointed.

I purchased this CD from a local New Age shop a few years ago, and today it is still my favorite instrumental new age CD. This is a CD that I plan to give as a gift to friends, because it is relaxing, and breath-taking. I personally believe that the gift of music is one of the best gifts you could give to anyone, that's why I consider this the best choice.
