Book Description

When Monique finds out her brother, Kieran, is planning her future with the one fairy she wants nothing to do with, she seeks refuge in the human world. Now Kieran fears she will be the next victim in a string of murdered fairies and is determined to bring her home.

Hiding should be a breeze. She can control any human with a flirtatious smile and an attraction spell. Until she meets Daniel Elliot, the only human who's immune to both.

A year ago, Daniel's fiancée disappeared with the engagement ring, an Elliot family heirloom. He's ready to move forward with his life, but his mother's obsession with retrieving the ring makes that impossible. Then Monique walks into his office to apply for a job.

Daniel and Monique can't deny their attraction, but will the reason he's Fairyproof be too much to overcome?

  • I love fairies and think Constance did a wonderful job incorporating their mythology into the human world.  Totally my cup of tea! -- Amber Garr: The Evolution of a Muse
  • This was a great read.  I very quickly got drawn into the world of Fairies.  From the first sentence the story moved very quickly. -- The Book Maven

About the Author

Constance Phillips lives in Ohio with her husband, two ready-to-leave-the-nest children, and four canine kids. Her perfect fantasy vacation would involve hunting Dracula across Europe with her daughter, who also digs that kind of stuff. When she's not writing about fairies, shifters, vamps, and guardian angels, she's working side-by-side with her husband in their hardwood flooring business.

Constance is actively involved in her local Romance Writers of America chapter (MVRWA) and the Southeast Michigan chapter of the United States Pony Club. When not writing or enjoying the outdoors, she loves reality television or can be found at a Rick Springfield concert (just look for the pink Converse high tops).

Constance blogs regularly at You can also follow her on Twitter or friend her on Facebook.

5.0 out of 5 stars You have got to love fairies. September 28, 2012
Well, so, you guys know that I do not give a 5 star rating lightly, but in this case, I feel that it is well-deserved. I felt so sucked into this story that I just could not walk away and I had to know what was going to happen.

Monique, or Naomi as you know her at the beginning of the story, is so absolutely shocked that her powers are not working on Daniel that she has no idea what she is going to do. She has never had to rely on actual ability before without her Fairy powers and she is lost. But what she did not expect was that she would develop feelings for this man and have to make the most difficult choice of her life.

The characters were well thought out and so fully developed that you feel as though you actually know them and can imagine interacting with them. The story line is amazingly well written and there are no real hiccups in the plot line. It can be a little confusing while you get used to the shifting point of view a little bit. Some sections are Daniel and others are Monique, but once you adjust to that, it flows beautifully and I could not put this down. I felt as though I was as invested in what was going to happen as the characters were, and I felt the same shock and disbelief when the twist hit that the characters did.

I really feel that this is well worth the read and that any fan of fantasy and paranormal romance really should pick this one up. Fair warning, there is a little bit of adult language and while sex is not graphically related, it is alluded to. So, I would definitely say that this is not for the younger reader for that reason, but definitely worth the read otherwise!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, Unique Storyline October 6, 2012
Very unique and fast paced read! Phillips does a great job of creating a storyline that sinks its hooks into you and doesn't let go till the end. The characters are well formed, you become invested in them. The ending was not too surprising and was left with somewhat of an opening, so there could possibly be a sequel to this one... I would definitely read it!! I look forward to reading more from Constance Phillips!!

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book for review purposes only. I was not compensated to write a positive or favorable review. This is Keeping Up With The Rheinlander's personal opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairyproof Review October 18, 2012
By Alisia
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this book. I love how we are not told why she ran away until later in the book. It adds mystery and suspense. I thought that Daniel was great. He was sweet and understanding. Another great thing about this book was that we got to see some parts from Monique, some from Daniel and some from Keiran. We got to see how each character looked to the other. Like we knew what was going on with Monique but when we saw her from Daniel's point of view, you would never know all the craziness in her life. We also got introduced to more characters this way. There is so much conflict within Monique. Right from the beginning you know that she doesn't want to lie about her name or who she is. She wants to talk to and trust her brother but doesn't feel like she can forgive him for what he did.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

I highly recommend this first novel by Constance Phillips. It combines mystery, danger, fantasy, and romance into one finely tuned read. The characters are dynamic and memorable and thoughtfully crafted. I can't wait for the second book which will be out in 2013.

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly acceptation story December 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is not my genre of books, but I met Ms. Phillips at an author event and we struck up a friendship. I have read several other of her contemporary romance books, but dragged my feet at reading Fairyproof. What a mistake! From the beginning of the book until the last page, I was truly mesmerized. As the story weaved its magic, I forgot all about not liking fantasy books (with fairies and powers and different worlds, and such nonsense) and was totally drawn in to the story. I always judge a book based on how long the characters live in my imagination after I have finished the book, and with this book, they will live for quite some time. The characters in Fairyproof came alive with a believable story of family, deception and love. In the end, I was routing for the bad guys to get their due and for Daniel and Monique to get their HEA.

I will not hesitate to read another on of Ms. Phillips books regardless of the genre. You will not go wrong with purchasing and reading this book. A truly acceptation story.

4.0 out of 5 stars FAIRY PROOF~ January 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I really enjoyed this story. Monique is a bit out of her element in the business world, but determined to succeed and not let Daniel down. Her brother and his partner are determined to hunt her down and make her marry the detestable and treasonous, Eero, but she has found a friend in Billy, an exiled fairy, and is becoming more and more comfortable in the human world. The subplot of the planned coup and her brother's part in it is worthy of a book of its own and enhances this story extremely well. I loved the author's descriptions of both the human world and the fairy world, and Daniel will give the reader some excellent surprises.
