4.0 out of 5 stars fun, April 25, 2001
By
Nathan (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fairytale (Audio CD)
After first hearing them in a radio interview, I started to follow them more. Though I listen to their latest CD more now, this one has most of my favorites. Danielle's (Maryann) voice is crazy awesome. It is worth checking it out in just one of the samples. Paired up with Ken's (the Professor) fun and sometimes silly songwriting, they make a great team.

If you are in the New York area and liked their music, it is probably also worth checking them out live. They play a great mix, usually add in songs that are not on CD, and it is a light, fun environment.

Sometimes I wonder why they have not made it bigger, since any friend I lend my CD too always likes them. But it is also nice to surprise people with great music from a band few know.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kudos from the press for "Fairy Tale", June 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Fairytale (Audio CD)
In response to elbarono's review of June 19, "Fairy Tale" was Professor and Maryann's debut album released in 1994 - over six years ago. Their style and music requires "listening." You will find that the more you listen, the more you will want to listen. "Fairy Tale" was lauded by the press. Alternative Press, in their review, dubbed Professor and Maryann, "A Simon and Garfunkel for our age." Their second album, "Lead Us Not Into Penn Station" was equally well received.
