Editorial Reviews

It's been a while since Bis' last LP, the awesome Lyrical Law from 2011, and its been quiet in terms of music from the Ripper, until his appearances in Almighty LP, and now more in the form of his 15th studio album, Fait Accompli, which is released on June 10th 2014. Having been privileged enough to contribute to the LP and hear it in total, I am very pleased, as a career-long fan, and good friend of the GOAT MC to be able to report back to the fans who are hungry and eager to hear this new work.

If I had to describe it in terms of previous releases, I'd say its something akin to a solo length Defcon Zero, only upgraded in all aspects. Throw in a hint of RTJ and C of Tranquility, and You'll begin to get the sense of what he's coming with on this one. Its a serious record with apolcalyptic undertones, as he takes us on a journey of whats going on on planet earth circa 2014, and reports on the state of affairs unfolding before the populaces eyes, who can just look on, powerless as havoc is rained down upon them from all angles. It reminds Me of a Terminator movie on acid, with befitting beats throughout and vivid potent rhymes delivered with intent in the form of tight schemes, and I believe everyone who has taken the journey with Bis as he has evolved as an elite-level artist will be pleased with what they get on this one coming from one of the best emcees to ever touch the mic.

This is the album Canibus was put on the planet to make, but never had a sufficient enough state of alarm in the world to draw inspiration from, and truly focus the menagerie of his mind upon. It's the most topically cohesive, palatable and headily conscious he's ever been for an entire album. Having a unified base of production and engineering from a single visionary makes it all work together in perfect, coalescing, high-tech harmony. Nobody else raps like this and nobody else will. A younger Canibus might ask compelling questions and never get to present the answers, while the wizened mind on display here assumes that his fanbase already know the answers, and compresses these trains of thought into mind bogglingly dense articulation... more fantastic and verbose than anything you'd ever find in passing conversations or pointed editorial.

Fans who appreciate the artist for his unique perspective will love this culmination of all his stylistic facets, and those who simply enjoy a combination of intellectual discourse and unapologetic, raw machismo in their hip-hop will find what they've been missing here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the DECADE June 10, 2014
Format:Audio CD
This album is a must-have for ANY fan of hip hop music. The poetry in each track is mind-blowing. His heart and soul are bleeding into every line. Every line is a knowledge bomb, though-provoking and not to mention, sick wit it. It will take me a long time to digest this album. Hell, I am still digesting Mic Club. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good album. June 10, 2014
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
First of all, I think there are too many skits, but this album is still pure fire from a lyrical genius. The greatest of all time shows us how he still has it in him to rip complex rhyme schemes. I listened to the album a couple times already on laptop speakers and it was banging so I can imagine what amazing audio experience earbuds or surround sound would produce. Very deep, layered intricate lyrics and messages delivered in usual Canibus fashion; pure adrenaline splashed with cyborg brain abilities and word acrobatics sprinkled with wit, dry humor and obscure metaphors and references taken from all global nano-industrial sectors. This should hold the fans over who are dying for RTJ2Infinity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Canibus is back like he left something! June 10, 2014
By Nathan

Easily his most creatively themed album to date. Exactly the kind of music people need to hear. The subject matter corresponds perfectly with events actually happening in the world at this time. The production and lyricism is absolutely on point. Buy the album, support the artist, you will not regret it.

Very different lyrically then his normal style. Very good still. Slower, less emphasis on rhythms. Tactical decision by canibus to stress the importance of the message. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars A lyrical masterpiece, but half the ablum is taken up with skits.
I decided to purchase the album because it was rated very highly and the reviews were very positive. Back in the 90's Canibus would murder any track he appeared on. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars 'Bis still rocking it.
Always been a fan of Canibus. He's still got those sick rhymes but I felt that his flow just isn't what it used to be. He seems to spit his newer stuff slow and methodical.
