Best Bible I've ever owned,

This is the best Bible I have ever had. It divides up the whole bible into small passages with commentary on the historical meaning and a contemporary application. I read the books of the Bible passage by passage in my NLT Bible and then read the commentary in this one. The commentary is REAL, and CHALLENGING and not soft or airy. God has used this Bible to change my life radically. I read all the minor prophets in less than one week using this Bible as a help for understanding and now I'm finishing the Old Testament. This is a MUST HAVE for any person, christian or non christian and it is NECESSARY for anyone intimidated by reading the Bible. If you are a parent looking for a Bible for their child or teenager or college student or Adult kid, dont get a Bible that makes God seem like a cartoon character or dont get them one with like makeup tips in it--they deserve to be challenged in the Lord and this Bible is perfect for them!! I recommend 110% Praise the Lord!

This Bible contains some very useful study aids. The study notes are based on paragraphs/sections, rather than individual verses. For each paragraph/section, two types of commentaries are provided: "There and Then" provides background information; "Here and Now" helps readers apply the messages of the paragraph/section to our daily life. Most notes are adapted from the corresponding commentaries in NIV Application Commentaries series.
Other features such as full page articles, study guides, reading tracks, book introduction, and index/concordance are all very useful. The printing quality of this Bible is rather poor, the words bleed through nearly the entire Bible, especially in the gospels where the words of Christ are in red. I use this study bible together with my NET Bible (1st edition, available form bible.org), which provides more detailed information on individual words and verses.

I have been reading this Bible for the past month for class and also just for personal study and am definitely enjoying it. It has many quality commentaries, a concordance, many articles on various issues and many statistics on world problems. I've been impressed with it so far and would recommend it.
