I think the author's goal is well grounded, however, most of the content is very basic and therefore doesn't help a lot. Also, he has a very narrow and somewhat naive view of socially responsible investments. If you need to get a handle on a basic philosophy this provides a good start.

About me: I've done 6 months of research on faith-based investing so by now that makes me an expert, I hope my own book will be out soon enough. I read this book just to see what I'm missing if anything. You know the saying: a self-educated man is a fool. So one always should pay to talk to "professionals", meet one's peers, etc. One can't just learn on his or her own. Honestly, I didn't learn anything new from this book but I feel better knowing more of what the competition is like. So now ...
About the book itself: It was fair. Kind of expensive for what it gave. It attempted to cover way too many subjects about handling money responsibly. With the title "investor" I thought it would have more to do with investing. Could have been more in-depth. If you are a beginner to the field and the concepts are new, then this is a good book to buy. If you already have done some faith based investing or previously attended a lecture on the topic you would be better off doing internet research and saving your money.
