Book Description

January 1, 2002
Faith Beyond Belief is a testimony of the unquestioned, personal faith of David Eberly, the senior allied prisoner of the Gulf War. We are with him when his F-15E is hit by a surface-to-air missile, as he evades the enemy in the Iraqi desert, and as he endures forty-three days and nights in the cold, dark cells of Baghdad. We descend into a black hole and witness the courage of a man confronted with fear, dismal isolation, starvation and psychological torment in Saddam's prisons. Together, we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, and ultimately, share his journey to freedom.

5.0 out of 5 stars The true story of Gulf War veteran David Eberly, April 10, 2002
This review is from: Faith Beyond Belief: A Journey to Freedom (Paperback)
Faith Beyond Belief is the true story of Gulf War veteran David Eberly. Written in his own words, Eberly survived being shot down in the Iraqi desert and after being captured was to spend forty-three days in the prison cells of Baghdad. A story of faith as well as the struggle for survival, penned by a deeply religious soldier who trusted in God to care for his soul, Faith Beyond Belief is singularly powerful reading and highly recommended for military buffs with an interest in the Gulf War, as well as anyone having to cope with life's manifold challenges and adversities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!, March 4, 2010

This review is from: Faith Beyond Belief: A Journey to Freedom (Paperback)
This is an excellent read! I mostly read fictional books in my "down time", but a friend loaned me this book to read emphasizing how good this book was. Like some fiction novels that I read, I couldn't put this book down for any extended period of time. As a slow reader, I finished this book in two nights. Col. Eberly, thanks so much for sharing your experience and your faith with us! I would recommend this book to everyone!
