amusing gender war,
This review is from: Faith (Mass Market Paperback)
Faith Ackerly is happy for her sister Grace who loves her spouse (see Grace). However, she has no interest in finding a husband for herself.
Faith especially wants nothing to do with infamous rake Gareth Lloyd, who has just received his title. However, she admits to herself, he seems serious about performing the responsibilities attached to his new position and not just remain a more affluent wastrel; but ultimately she concludes a leopard cannot change its spots. To her chagrin, she is attracted to the womanizer. To make matters worse, a gossip catches her kissing Gareth at a ball. Compromised, they marry and head to his estate where he plans to persuade his bride that they belong with one another; if each moves past their fears of love. Although some besides Herman's Hermits will say "second verse same as the first", Faith and Gareth make a fine couple who go through a similar amusing gender war like Grace and Trevor did with the fresh twist of their battles occurring after they are forced to marry. The cast is strong led by a spunky female who prefers being a spinster on the shelf rather than finding a husband; let alone forced to marry a wastrel whom she loves. Readers will enjoy Deneane Clark's lighthearted historical frolic. Harriet Klausner

Miss Faith Ackerly is ready to find her Mr. Right among this season's ton. After watching her sister find love and happily-ever-after Faith is looking for her own. Most marriage matches found among the ton are more business than pleasure but that simply will not do for Miss Faith Ackerly. For most of his life Gareth Lloyd has been known as the second son, a prankster and a stud. Now that Gareth has become the Marquess of Roth he is the most eligible man in the ton. The women are fawning all over him but the one that sparks his interest doesn't fall at his feet as he would like. Gareth is the opposite of what Faith wants in a husband. How can she find love with a known womanizer? Even as his touch sets her on fire Faith is content to deny her feelings until Gareth and Faith are caught in a compromising position. What is the proper thing to do? Gareth and Faith must marry or her reputation will be in tatters. Can this couple find love together or will there be too many obstacles in their way? Faith is a lovely romance filled with wonderful characters. I really enjoyed Faith. Faith and Gareth share a burning chemistry that lights up the pages. I am growing to adore the Ackerly women and the men they attract. This is my first Virtue novel. You don't have to read the series in order to follow along, but after reading one book it's impossible not to want to read the others. Deneane Clark has written a family full of bold, brazen, beautiful, strong and sexy women. I fell in love with these sisters! They are inspiring from their relationships with each other to the relationships they find with their husbands. Gareth is an ex-womanizer with a big heart but boy did he make me angry at times. These two did their best to infuriate me at times but I thoroughly enjoyed their journey. Faith is a sweet and satisfying read! Miranda For Joyfully Reviewed
