JOCELYN GREEN is an award-winning author, freelance writer and editor. A former military wife, she authored, along with contributing writers, Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives (Moody 2008) and Faith Deployed . . . Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives (Moody 2011). Jocelyn is also co-author for Battlefields & Blessings: Stories of Faith and Courage from the War in Iraq & Afghanistan (AMG Publishers 2009), which won the Gold Medal from Military Writers Society of America in 2010. She maintains her own award-winning Web site for military wives at www.faithdeployed.com. She holds a B.A. in English from Taylor University, and is an active member of the Evangelical Press Association, the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association and the Christian Authors Network. Award-winning author Jocelyn Green inspires faith and courage in her readers through both fiction and nonfiction. A former military wife herself, she offers encouragement and hope to military wives worldwide through her Faith Deployed ministry. Her novels, inspired by real heroines on America's home front, are marked by their historical integrity and gritty inspiration.

Jocelyn graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, with a B.A. in English, concentration in writing. She is an active member of the Evangelical Press Association, Christian Authors Network, the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association, American Christian Fiction Writers, and the Military Writers Society of America.

She loves Mexican food, Broadway musicals, Toblerone chocolate bars, the color red, and reading on her patio. Jocelyn lives with her husband Rob and two small children in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

As an Air Force (AF) military-brat, AF veteran, AF spouse and biblical counselor, I joyfully recommend "Faith Deployed...Again" to military spouses as well those who minister to them for three reasons. First, Jocelyn Green and her contributing authors seek to compassionately go beyond giving helpful advice and enter into the realm of encouraging military spouses to honor God through obedience to His Word, no matter how difficult the challenges of military life. Second, the format of the book is especially helpful because it challenges the reader to put what she's read into practice and examine her own life in light of God's truth. Each essay includes applicable questions and a prayer that encourages the reader to turn to God for help, wisdom and grace in her time of need. Third, this book is also refreshing to read because although it clearly identifies and acknowledges the unique demands and strains of the military environment on families and spouses, it nevertheless points each of us to the only sustaining hope there is, Jesus Christ.

From the dedication on the first page of Faith Deployed...Again: More Daily Encouragement for Military Wives, the tone of the book is set and speaks volumes to the reader. The book is dedicated to military wives, and proclaims that the Lord hears the desires of the afflicted and encourages them. What a simple, yet powerful, way to dedicate the book! The Lord uses the gift of writing of many military wives to fulfill His promise to encourage the afflicted.

Faith Deployed...Again is divided into eight sections with devotions speaking to various aspects of the military life such as military marriages, deployments, and a section for mothers of service members. Each devotional begins with a Bible verse and is followed by a short personal essay from one of the contributing writers. The devotions conclude with challenging questions and a prayer that relates to the essay.

Though the title of the book declares that the devotions are a "daily" read, I read the book of 100+ devotions in less than a week. I was immediately blown away by the level of honesty by the writers in this book and found myself nodding along in agreement, thinking (and sometimes saying out loud), "Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one willing to admit I struggle with that!" Faith Deployed...Again is not just a "Jesus loves you" book, but one that will challenge you, the military wife, to a deeper relationship with Jesus during the trials and hardships that come along with the military life.

The spine of my book is permanently creased, several pages are dog-eared, and my pen almost ran out of ink from the amount of underlining and starring of passages. Jocelyn Green and the other contributing writers will forever bless and encourage military wives through this God-inspired book.
