A. h. macmillan, born in 1877 was just a young man in search of spirtual truth. He eventually came in touch with Charles Russell in 1900 who was the first president of the Bible Students (as Jehovah's witnesses was formally called).

After having his bible questions answered through the bible, Macmillan realized that it was the truth. For the next 66 years he was in the fore front of seeing the truth being spread throught the world, to what has become known in over 235 lands, with over 6 million witnesses to date.

He served with three of the presidents, Russell, Rutherford, and Knor. He relates the good times and also the bad times of the early history of the modern day Jehovah Witnesses. From being put into jail with 7 others, and going through two world wars, he relates honestly to the readers what the Jehovah Witnesses went throught to tell the truth of the Bible.

If you want to know the truth about Jehvoah's Witnesses, then this is the best book to read.

You will not be disappointed in this reprint of the highly popular book about Jehovah's Witnesses amd their organization. The superior quality of the hardbinding and the dustjacket are actually better than the original. Plus, at $99.00, it is far less than the exorbitant prices of $300.00 to $400.00, and even higher, that most people want for the original.

What an excellent account of Jehovah's modern-day organization from infancy, as told by someone who lived it. An encouraging book for anyone to read that is seeking answers to world conditions, pointing to Jehovah's Kingdom by Jesus Christ as the answer. Biblical & modern day examples of unwavering faith assures us of our being able to please and be acceptable to Jehovah. As so many others, what a spiritual, theocratic treasure Brother Macmillan was!

very well written a behind the scenes positive look at the happenings going on at Bethel during this period of time, even tho sometimes the subject matter wasnt funny is turns sometimes funny but always informative. Grab this book when you see one, esp with a DJ, its value would only go up, because of content, its value would be of interest to anyone esp the IBSA and the JW's. I would share this with my friends and really like the honest and openess of all the historical lives of that time A+

This is a well written book. The account catches the imagination. It is an account of somebody who wanted to find the truth. He found it, and lived by it all his life. He PROVED for himself the truthfulness of the Bible and, as the title of the book indicates, moved forward and acted on what he learnt. Well worth reading.

I don't know if this book is still in print, but I hope so. I had read the hardback years ago, but wanted a copy for my personal library at an affordable price. Yes you can download it from other sources, but I don't like reading from a computer screen very much. Ebay prices for an original hardback are outrageous - a result, I'm afraid, of individuals who after reading the "Proclaimers" book wanted some of the older publications by Russell and Rutherford. The demand has driven prices to the point of being ridiculous.
This books tells of the personal journey of Br. Macmillan from the days of his close association with the society's first president, C.T. Russell, through the days of momentous change during Br. Rutherford's presidency to the 1950"s and the increasing growth of theocraticly ruled "New World Society". The honesty and humility of Br. Macmillan proves to be very becoming and makes it a joy to read. A "must read", as they say, to every member of Jehovah's Witnesses and to those interested in a personal viewpoint of the many changes that worshipers of Jehovah went through to get to this point where we are celebrating 100 Years of Kingdom Rule.
