He should have looked at the things that she did to truly know her, August 12, 2010
This review is from: The Faithful Bride (Hardcover)
Ten years ago Wade and walked away from Janet, his fiancée. No explanations were given. He moved on to another state and moved on with his life. Janet was stuck in limbo. Never really moving on, but waiting for Wade to return. She never achieved the closure that she needed from this relationship that she shared with the love of her life for 18 months. Then Janet walked in to the offices of her client to discover Wade Holt had returned to her life. He was still as good looking as she remembered and he still affected her the same way; only now there was a ring on that all important finger!
This book started out so well. Janet seemed like such a strong character. She needed to know Wade's reasons for walking away from her the way he did, but first he needed to seek a bit of revenge. Once she discovers the truth she sits him straight on his accusations. But he still wavers in his belief in her. Granted he has good reasons for doubting her but not necessarily any that she caused him to have. My problem was the quick change that she pulled a third of the way into the book. If I blank that whole scene out and pretend it didn't happen then the rest of the story flowed better.
