A Faithful Christmas

I have many Christmas Cds...ranging from Perry Como to Destiny's Child to the Carpenters to Babyface and everything in between...and this one ranks as one of the BEST. There is nothing CHEESY about this album...it's totally sincere. And best of all, it's completely eclectic. If Faith keeps on releasing music like this, she'll be a relevant recording artist for the rest of her life. Case in point: "Happy Holiday" and especially "Christmas Wish" are PURE CLASSIC FAITH, like the stuff you'd hear on her first album. She gives us James Brown-ish soul (not unlike "Mesmerized" from "The First Lady") on "Soulful Christmas" and "Merry Christmas Baby," she gives us a gospel rendition of "OCome All Ye Faithfu" and is coquettish on "Santa Baby." But she TRULY SHINES on "Mistletoe and Holly," which is a timeless, timeless production...it could have been recorded in the 1940s...it's just beautiful. As is her treatment of "White Christmas," "The Christmas Song" and her flawless rendition of a sometimes cheesy song, "This Christmas." However...THE TRULY SHINING MOMENT on this CD is "THE DAY THAT LOVE BEGAN." This album is worth it for that song alone. So much emotion, joy and love shine through on that song...plus the story of a shephard boy is touching as well. Thank you FAITH for putting FAITH into modern Christmas music, and for really shining on your first of hopefully many more Christmas albums...And how great would it be to hear her sing "O Holy Night" and some of the other standards!

This is one of the BEST Christmas albums I've ever heard! Faith did a great job on this project...her vocals are simply BEAUTIFUL on every song!!! This album has a beautiful and blend of Soul, Jazz, Blues and R&B...Faith adds a touch of warmth and class to Holiday classics like "Christmas Song", "White Christmas" & "O Come All Ye Faithful". She also gives us her rendition of other Holiday oldies like "Soulful Christmas", "Mistletoe & Holly" and my personal favorite, "The Day That Love Began". I LOVE this album!!! If you want a great Christmas album to listen to while sipping eggnog by the fireplace, you MUST get "A Faithful Christmas"!!! :)

I've always been a Faith Evans fan and was thrilled that she released a Christmas album. I'm glad she had a mix of newer songs and older carols. Her voice is in top form and the material on here is great! The styles range from traditional to jazz to r&b to old-school soul. My favorites have to be "O Come All Ye Faithful', "Christmas Song" and "Soulful Christmas." Replying to your Christmas greeting at the end of the record... Merry Christmas to you, too Faith!

I HAVE GOT SCREAM AT EVERYONE FOR THIS ALBUM. THIS GREAT WOMAN JUST KEEPS GETTING MORE& MO AMAZING! DO YOU HEAR THESE SICK BACKGROUNDS ON THIS CD? YO SHE IS REALLY GETTIN HER KAREN CLARK/ELLA FITZGERALD ON! DON'T EVEN LET ME GET STARTED ON THE LEADS ON THESE CRAZY TRAX. YO IF I EVA SEE FAYE I'M JUST GONNA STEAL HER IN MOUTH! SIMPLE AS THAT. SHE SHOULDN'T BE SINGING LIKE THIS. THIS ALBUM REALLY SHOWCASES HER KNOWLEDGE FOR MUSIC. THIS CRAZY CHICKS GOT LIKE 50'S 60'&70'S SOUNDS ON THIS JOINT. IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS GET IT! LIP-SYNCHING MARIAH HAS NOTHING ON THIS, NO SHADE "MIMI", JUST KEEPIN IT REAL! FAITH IS REAL NICE WITH HERS THIS GO ROUND.

faith sounds great.............her voice is a gift from god.every song is great........any faith fan should have it.

This has got to be one of the best Christmas cd's to come out since Kelly Price's One Family. Faith Evans doesn't give you traditional, boring Christmas music that you can find anywhere, but she gives you her spin, the way she'd want it done. Stand Out Tracks Like Merry Christmas Baby, O Coem All Ye Faithful, This Christmas and the Original tune, Happy Holiday are the reason why, even in 2005 almost 2006 Faith Evans rich and soulful voice can't be touched. I definitely recommend this album along with her 4 previous LP's.

I love this album. Faith took a lot of OLD classics that most R&B artists won't touch and I think that is great. Her version of 'This Christmas' was done very well, but my favorite is 'The Day That Love Began'. I think it's such a pretty song and it's worth buying the album.

This CD was well coordinated and crafted. The kind of CD you bake cookies, cut greens, make pies, kiss and hug family, kids, while playing.

This is going to be my favorite Christmas album. Makes me want to hang ornaments and drink spiked egg nog. Every song is great. Faith OWNS "Merry Christmas Baby". The best Christmas album I have heard in a very long time.

I must say this is the 3rd best album I have bought this year. The First Lady and Toni Braxton's Libra are 2nd and 1st.

This Christmas album is has something to offer for everyone. Faith's voice flutters with ease over many of the 11 tracks. I also must say that the production on all of the tracks are excellent, especially with the orchestra providing the music. This is a sound that Bad Boy could not have given her.

Highlights include the opening track "Happy Holiday"...a ode to wishful thinking. Faith's voices glides up and down over this beautiful song. "The Day That Love Began" and "Santa Baby" also bring a smile the listeners face, while "Chistmas Wish" is standard old-school Faith.

All traditional Christmas carols are done with lush background vocals and sometimes a "cartoon-ish" sound which works really well on "Mistletoe and Holly"

Faith goes goespel on the dreamy "O Come All Ye Faithful"..think a mix between "Catching Feelings" and "Reasons"..with Kameelah from 702 singing background....This song makes one thinks of a winter wedding.
