About the Author

Terry Marr is a born-again, anointed woman of God. She is a singer, nurse, author, prophetess and ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A yielded vessel unto the Lord, Terry serves as first lady of New Life Community Church in Memphis, where her husband, L.C. Marr, Jr. is pastor. She is the mother of two children, Lawanda and L.C. III.

In the medical field, Terry has worked as staff nurse, nurse manager and in nurse recruiting at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. Former secretary of the Nursing Council at Methodist, Terry was nominated as one of the Top 100 Nurses of West Tennessee.

For more than fifteen years, Terry has worked diligently in outreach ministry. She, along with her husband, has ministered in various housing developments and other distressed areas. For those efforts, a Certicate of Achievement was awarded to them by the Memphis Housing Authority. Terry is also the recipient of the Life Changing Conference 2000 Award for outstanding community service.

Since August 1999, Terry has been ministering in the Pepper Tree Apartments community in Memphis where, so far, she has organized a health fair, a back to school youth rally and talent show, a women's conference and weekly Bible studies. Additionally, Terry is offering family counseling and rap sessions to many of the residents that require individualized attention.

Terry has also counseled teenagers at Christian campsites and coordinated gift baskets to the needy. With all of her deeds and servitude, Terry gives all glory and honor to God.

Terri Marr's book is quite inspirational to those of us who were born into the "knowing and experiencing" of God. As well as to those of us who are, now, just coming into our own in and with God. It allowed me, and others I have shared her book with, to see that there is no perfect Christian - regardless of how long you have been saved. The Lord knows who He has created and what He has stored within you, even before you are born into this natural realm. You may detour from your destiny but it will come to pass, if it is God's will. He does not desire to see any of His children perish without fulfilling His destiny and purpose. I thank the Lord for Terri Marr's insight and wisdom into Christianity and the walk with and to Jesus Christ. It unburden my soul and allowed me to truly experience God on a daily basis, without the pressure of others' expectations on my spiritual growth. "The race is not given to the swift."
