From a Grieving Mother,
This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
I had to read the book in snipets because my pain was so fresh and the tears so easily near the surface. Her grief was my grief, and I cried for my own daughter as I cried for her sons and daughter as well.
However, I was not left to wallow in my grief. The running theme throughout the entire book was one of hope. Lynnette's words offered me a glimpse of the hope that was often too difficult for me to see through my own desperation. It spoke to me of true surrender and of true comfort. It reminded me I was not alone. This is a must-read for any grieving family, and especially grieving mothers. You are not forsaken. You are blessed.

Sweet Reality,
By Eldora (Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
This book is worth reading whether or not you have experienced severe personal tragedy. Each one of us either has or will encounter pain and loss to some degree and Lynette's candid and honest handling of the subject has great value. This lady is real. She does not gloss over the pain, but points to the One who makes sense of it. No cliched, spiritual-sounding mumbo-jumbo in this book; just honest, sweet trust in Almighty God who is all-powerful, all-knowing and who loves us enough to see us through the pain of a fallen world. It's an easy read and will be time well spent!

Amazing!,
By Dwight Joseph Witherington (Derby, KS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
To all out there who are wondering about this book, it is amazing! It is written from a pure heart. Mrs. Kraft sees her "afflictions" as coming from God and gives Him all the glory that is due Him for these times. He oftentimes sends these sort of affictions our way to see how we will respond to them. This book is the sign that she has gone through them with her head-held-high and gives all the glory to God for His unending grace and mercy in times like these.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is just an absolutely stellar, God honoring book written from the humblest and meekest of hearts!

You'll be humbled and blessed!,

This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me. The title says it all... Lynnette Kraft is an amazing, Godly woman that loves the Lord with her whole heart. Her story is so honest, she doesn't hold back - pouring her emotions onto every page and sharing how through her grief she grew even closer to the Lord. I was moved by the journal entries that portrayed the raw emotion, pain and sadness that she endured as she longed for her babies that had gone on to be with Jesus; but I was especially humbled by how she chose to cope in what seemed like a hopeless situation. Many people would be tempted to give up under such circumstances but Lynnette was determined to press on, and eventually even allowed God to work through her to reach others. This book is about faith and hope and love. I was so touched by the story of this courageous family - they are incredible. I have been so humbled and blessed by them, and you will be too if you read this book. I definitely recommend it! God bless.

Lynnette Kraft has put into print her honest feelings and showed how God has been there for her family during times that would test anyone's faith. She has shown how during times of hurting and searching, God is always there and will comfort you in each step of your healing. It is a book that I would highly recommend to those who have been through these trials or to give you the courage to face other rough times with honesty and love.

This is a wonderful book. Very inspiring! I love how Mrs. kraft is so candid and descriptive. The book will leave you with a feeling of hope when done reading it. What a blessing that she is able to endure the pain and still keep God in the forefront. This book made me realize what a blessing children are (even moreso than i felt before) and that I should cherish every moment with them.

This book is incredible! Lynnette's story is a story of great suffering, faith and hope.
I felt like I was walking in her shoes while I read her story. I would recommend this book to those who have suffered a great loss or to those of you who know someone who has suffered great loss. There almost are not the right words to truly describe her story, but I know this for sure, even through great suffering and tragedy, there is hope! Donna

Emotional and touching,
This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
This book gripped me from the beginning. The heartwrenching story of the loss of their six year old daughter, on top of the losses of their infant sons, is something that most people cannot even imagine. Lynnette has such grace, courage, faith, and strength throughout. If you've ever wondered how someone can still praise the Lord through trials, read this book. Your faith will be renewed. Lynnette is an inspiration for anyone who has endured grief and heartbreak.

Very thought provoking!,
This review is from: In Faithfulness, He Afflicted Me (Paperback)
I started reading this book the afternoon that I received it in the mail and stayed up late into the night to finish it. This book is the gripping account of how one woman's life was tested through the trials and agony of losing three sweet children. I could not put the book down and have thought about different parts of the book ever since reading it.
One thing that really stood out to me was how the author responded to the pain that these trials brought to her life. She used them to turn towards the Lord and grow in her walk with Him. It was apparent that the Lord has turned her immense sorrow into joy and is now using her life to comfort others going through trials. Another thing that stood out to me in this book was how she seized moments with her children to just love and cherish them. This was a challenge to me as a young mom to do the same. She has so much wisdom sprinkled through out the book that only comes from a woman that has been "through the fire". The book has been a challenge to me in my personal life. I would encourage any young mother or someone who has experienced the loss of a child to read this book. It is a must read! |
