5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding daily devotional
This little volume is a daily devotional that is the most poignant and powerful I have ever used. These past several years as I have used it, it never grows tiresome. I find a new blessing each time I read it. Due in part to its simplicity, this is, in my opinion, one of Spurgeon's greatest works.

1.0 out of 5 stars not the original book
I have an original copy of this book and wanted to get a new copy. When I opened it and began to look, there had been many changes made to it. It is not C.H.Spurgeon's original work. Someone has taken his writing and changed it much and then put his name on it. Even the original translation of the Bible that he used has been changed.
I can not recommend this...

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle Review - Faith's Checkbook, August 20, 2011

Extremely disappointed with the Kindle version of Faith's Checkbook. The sample I downloaded was full of typos and spelling errors, and again that was just the sample. Never purchased, even for a dollar. If you're going to offer a product for money in return, get it right!

5.0 out of 5 stars Faith's Checkbook Gets to the Heart of Things, April 20, 2010

This review is from: Faith's Checkbook (Paperback)
As far as 'Classical' Daily Devotionals go, Faith's Checkbook is by far the one that speaks to the heart; if you have sorrows, trials, oppression, fears of the future, discouragement and disappointments in life -then these short comments taken from scripture- better known as ' God's Promises ' (using the King James Version of the Bible)give the reader encouragement and hope. Spurgeon tells us that we may take God's promises that pertain to our particular situation, and use them as we would a check written to us endorsed by God- taking it to the bank of heaven, and ask God to "Do as Thou has said." These 365 precious promises from God deal with a wide selection of topics, will comfort, encourage, and strengthen the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Utmost for His ighest, November 20, 2009

This review is from: Faiths Checkbook (Paperback)
Oswald Chmbers book, "My Utmost for His Highest" was written in 1935 but it is not a dated book. It still speaks to this reader and generation. The teachings of "My Utmostfor His Highest" are as timeless as the Scripture they seek to explain.
