Book Description

October 10, 2003
In the sequel to Destiny's Bridge, new lovers Lexington Walters and Amanda Cauble have withstood many things to be together. When Amanda decides to move to Texas for good, she goes back to her family's California home to get the rest of her things, taking Lex with her. Even though her parents have never understood her "lifestyle", they've not exactly fought against it. But when Amanda brings her rancher home with her, all bets are off.

More About the Author

I'm Texas born, and have lived here my entire life. The history of this great state has always intrigued me, and that's why all of my stories are based in Texas. I think my past experiences gave me insight into what I write about - I've lived in small towns and on farms, and spent many a summer on ranches where my grandfather worked. Growing up, horses and history were two of my passions, and living away from cities nurtured my creative side.

I've been interested in books and storytelling since I was a child. One of my favorite memories is sitting by my grandfather and listening to him tell stories about working in the oil fields and his life on a ranch. When I was a bit older, I would rewrite the endings to television shows, or come up with my own "episodes" altogether. Little did I know that my imagination would one day lead me to where I am now.

I've written eight books in the Lex & Amanda series:
DESTINY'S BRIDGE (2002)
FAITH'S CROSSING (2002)
HOPE'S PATH (2001/2003)
LOVE'S JOURNEY (2001/2006)
STRENGTH OF THE HEART (2002/2007)
THE WAY THINGS SHOULD BE (2004)
TO HOLD FOREVER (2008)
TRUST OUR TOMORROWS (2012)

There are also four stand-alone romances:
SOMETHING TO BE THANKFUL FOR (2002)
DIVING INTO THE TURN (2006)
PIPERTON (2009)
HEART'S RESOLVE (2012)

All of my books are published through Regal Crest Enterprises (www.regalcrest.biz). More information can be found on my website (www.CarrieLCarr.com).

4.0 out of 5 stars Smooth Easy Read--A Classic Romance, December 5, 2003
This review is from: Faith's Crossing (Paperback)
In Carr's first installment of this series (Destiny's Bridge), Texas rancher Lex Walters rescued visiting Californian Amanda Cauble when her car was swept away by a raging flood. Despite obstacles, the two women fell in love and committed to one another. In this sequel, Amanda decides to move to Texas to live with Lex, but there's only one problem: her upper class family doesn't approve. They are wealthy and manipulative, and her parents aren't shy about their hostility. With such powerful adversaries, Lex is entirely unsure that Amanda will be able to withstand either the scrutiny or the temptations that the Caubles toss the young woman's way.

This story (which was originally coupled with Destiny's Bridge in one volume and entitled Destiny's Crossing) has been re-edited and broken out into its own volume. The edited improvements are notable and make this book a smooth, easy read which includes some funny scenes as well as some high drama. A classic type of romance recommended for lesbian readers who enjoy an occasional happy ending.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Love, October 5, 2007

This review is from: Faith's Crossing (Paperback)
Another of the classic series of lesbian literature, the Lex and Amanda series by Carrie Carr should be on every collector's bookshelf. I recently read and enjoyed - for the second time - the entire story. In this sequel to `Destiny's Bridge,' Lex and Amanda start to move forward with their relationship and have to deal with Amanda's homophobic parents in the process.

Because of this wonderful series, Carrie Carr is one of the more widely-published authors in the genre. Lex and Amanda are easy to love and it's a joy to watch their relationship grow as the series develops.

1.0 out of 5 stars very disappointing, January 20, 2009
This review is from: Faith's Crossing (Paperback)
This book is horrible. There are too many characters who are loving and accepting of Lex and Amanda's lesbian relationship. This makes the characters unrealistic. Lex is so tough that she won't even take care of herself. No matter how injured or exhausted she is, Lex runs around town and works on the ranch. She's a very annoying character. It's hard to like someone who acts that tough all the time.
