Excellent Resource on the Pseudo-Occult!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fakers: Exploding Thy Myths of the Supernatural (Hardcover)
This is a "must have" resource for Christians! There is much false information about the occult that is taken as gospel truth without being critiqued. The authors clarify the differences between the occult and the pseudo-occult. They clarify the deception of ouija boards, tarot cards, and claims made by psychics and mediums. One of the most helpful things the authors do is to describe some of the reasons these deceptions are confused with the demonic. Mr. Korem is qualified to make the distinctions since he is a "professional deceiver" as a magician. He knows firsthand the tricks used to deceive. Dr. Meier is a professional in the arena of the mind, and how we all trick ourselves into believing something false is true.
Both authors take a very responsible approach with the information. Neither suggest that since it's "just deception and not demonic activity" that playing with such things as ouija boards and tarot cards isn't dangerous. They balance this approach with the truth that since something is misunderstood or deceptive, that doesn't mean that it's a supernatural force at work. |
