Then she meets Jack Langston -- charming, sexy and persuasive enough for two guys -- and her vow is out the window. Before she knows it, he's swept her off her feet and straight into his bed. Their adventures between the sheets are hot, thrilling....and leave Jack in perfect health. What better sign could Erin have that they are meant to be? That is, until she finds out about Jack's little secret..... Excerpt -- Erin had sworn off men...although, at this moment with her palm against Jack's hard, warm chest, for the life of her she couldn't remember why. Moving her hand in small circles, she worked her way along his torso, her pulse thudding as she traced his firm muscles. Desire flowed through her and she swallowed as he rolled back his head and a small moan of pleasure sounded from his throat. It wasn't enough. She had to touch him. With quick twists of her fingers she undid his shirt, then laid her hands on his skin, hardly believing she could be so bold. Where was that resolve to remain single? Nowhere in sight. His gaze fell to her mouth and she could feel him fighting the urge to kiss her. She struggled herself. In that moment there wasn't anything that made sense in the world but joining her mouth to his. She pressed her lips to his, where she paused for just a heartbeat while their breath mixed, the warmth and excitement and anticipation almost unbearable. So much for swearing off men. Here's what the back cover doesn't tell you - WARNING - somewhat of a SPOILER alert - Jack has a heart condition - he sought Erin out because he had heard of her sisters and knew that they and her mother had the gift of sexual healing. When he talks to her and realizes how she feels about all that & that she doesn't believe in it, he decides not to tell her why he came looking for her & he hires her to redecorate his house. They become lovers & he gets sick, like all the men in her past, but he keeps it from her. She finally figures out that she does have the gift - maybe even stronger than her sisters - it just manifests itself in a different way. She is emotionally destroyed when she finds out that Jack sought her out intending to use her for the gift, but she loves him anyway. Towards the end of the book, while they aren't getting along & she won't see him for fear of making him sick, his heart problems come back worse than before he started seeing her and he has a minor heart attack. Soon, he is scheduled to have open heart surgery - the same surgery his sister died from when they were younger. This is a really emotional book - the sex scenes are very hot - because of Erin's gift, she can feel what they person she loves feels, so the sex it that much more intense. It is great to see how it all plays out and how Erin comes to accept her place in her wacky but loving family. Great conclusion to the trilogy.

Just what the doctor ordered, June 1, 2006

Book #3 in the Sexual Healing series tells the story of Erin, the youngest of the supposedly gifted McClellan sisters. "Supposedly" because, although the gift of sexual healing manifests itself differently in each of the sisters, Erin is convinced that she actually makes men ill. Pete, Ryan, Trent--they all became violently sick after sex w/ Erin and then promptly disappeared from her life. (Erin calls herself Typhoid Mary and the antihealer.) Erin decides to make some changes in her pursuit of a more "normal" life--living on her own in a new apartment, concentrating on her career as a traditional interior designer (no more feng shui or woo-woo stuff), and NO men/dating/talk of sexual healing. Too bad she hadn't counted on Jack Langston. Jack is handsome, sexy, and successful. He's also desperate. A congenital heart problem and a stressful lifestyle lead him to check out alternative medicine. The owner of a new age shop tells him about tantric, or sexual, healing and mentions a family of local women with the gift. Jack tracks down Erin in her design shop but, since he finds it too awkward to reveal his true motives, hires her to work on his condo as a ploy to get close to her. Needless to say, Erin's intentions to keep things on a strictly professional basis quickly give way to an intense sexual relationship w/ Jack. Amazingly, Jack doesn't appear to suffer any of the usual consequences of contact w/ Erin, so she thinks the jinx has been lifted. Unfortunately, the secrets about Jack's true health emerge in dramatic fashion. At the same time Erin and Jack are embarking on their new relationship together, they are both trying to redefine their relationships with their respective families. Each has very different challenges. As the youngest daughter who thinks she doesn't quite fit in, Erin has to find her own path in life and discover her unique talents and worth. Jack, who has long been the anchor for his family, must learn to take care of himself and urge his relatives to become more self-reliant. At times, both Erin's and Jack's relatives were a tad annoying, but they were all well-intentioned, good people. Erin and Jack themselves were likeable characters w/ good chemistry together. If there was one thing that bothered me, it was Jack's initial deceptiveness w/ Erin. Jack himself felt bad about this, tho, and the reader understood his motives and feelings of desperation. I read this book w/out having read the other two books that preceded it. Although there are many references to Nikki's and Tess's stories (and gifts), I didn't feel lost by starting at the end. Although I intend to track down the first two books, this book can definitely be read either as a stand-alone book or as part of the series. All in all, this book had an interesting premise, was nicely written, and was lots of fun. It was a very pleasant way to spend a few hours. Just what the doctor ordered.

Satisfying, Emotional Read, November 22, 2005

The third McClellan sister, Erin believes she missed the sexual healing gift her family shares. When she sleeps with a man, she makes him sick! Certainly not something on which to build a long term relationship. Jack Langston needs healing. He's tried everything, except sexual healing. Coming to Erin and asking flat out seems wrong, so he hires her as an interior decorator. He admires her skills both in and out of the bedroom, but what will happen when she learns the real reason why he came to her, and his secret. I'll admit, the premise of a woman who gives her lovers a stomach flu type bug every time she has sex with them seemed almost laughable. Yet Ms. Graham pulls this story off wonderfully. Erin is a likeable, sympathetic heroine, and Jack, in spite of his secret, comes across as a virile hero. Sparks fly when these two characters meet, and the metaphysical person in me really enjoyed the well research alternative healing methods and the research about sexual healing methods such as tantra. With deep emotions and strong character, this book ranks highly among my recent reads. And even better, it stands alone from the Sexual Healing series, yet makes you want to read the other books too. Kudos!
