5.0 out of 5 stars Puka! Wicked!!
We just got this set. It is very well made. The pans are all solid and thick. They are great to cook with. We have an electric, flat surface cooktop. We chose the stainless over the nonstick because after a while nonstick tends to get ruined. 3.0 out of 5 stars Nice cookware, but some cheap qualities
I bought this set, hoping that it would be as good as Jamie is to me when it comes to good, simple recipes. However, after a week I was disappointed. I boiled water in the small sauce pan and began to notice dripping around the rivets on the handle. I thought, well maybe this is just condensation. Then I threw a tea bag in it and I saw my tea trickling down the sides...

We just got this set. It is very well made. The pans are all solid and thick. They are great to cook with. We have an electric, flat surface cooktop. We chose the stainless over the nonstick because after a while nonstick tends to get ruined. I don't know what these nonsticks are like, but all of our other stainless pans(other brands) are still in excellent condition. So we opted for longevity. I would choose to buy a large fry pan. The ones with the set are great, but you may want to have one large one also.
I just love my set. We enjoy Jamie Oliver and all his products.
He seems to take great care and concern to what he puts his name on. So, that made it an easy choice to choose these. Great pans. They were also in OPRAH magazine. Oprah's chef rated them as a great buy and great quality!!! A++++

5.0 out of 5 stars The real skinny on this cookware, January 12, 2004

I received this cookware for Christmas and I just love it. Acquiring a new ceramic-top stove required that I use flat bottom cookware. So hubby, being a smart guy, bought me this set. If you have never handled or used heavy, professional-gauge cookware, you may want to try something else. However, if you are tired of uneven cooking, sauted foods boiling rather that frying or just weary of replacing cookware every 5-10 years, then this is for you. I have read the previous reviews and must say I have not had any problems with leaks around the rivets. And the heavy bottoms hold a steady, even heat. Plus the stay-cool handles are a blessing--no more blistered palms from grabbing a hot handle. One suggestion though, I do not recommend buying non-stick pans, no matter who makes them. In over 20 years, I have yet to find one that actually holds up to the test of time. (I keep a cheap small pan to make sunny-side up eggs for hubbie.) But with this cookware, you really don't need non-stick. It fries beautifully! The clean-up is a breeze and will withstand scouring, if needed. This cookware will not, however, make a mediocre cook into a culinary institute chef. Only years of practiced cooking or training can do that. But seriously, for the money, this cookware is a good choice. My only regret is that they don't offer extra lids for purchase. Hats off to Oliver and T-Fal. You've got a winner here. And what a joy to find cookware NOT made in China under questionable worker conditions. Regards, Florence Mathews

I bought these a few months ago & haven't stopped raving about them! The weight is super, the lids fit perfectly so as to not lose alot of steam. I love that the lip curves out just so -I have yet to spill excess when pouring. I'm looking forward to using this set for years -and adding more pieces as they come available!

This is are third set of pans and are first two were Teflon, witch always wares off even with maticulase care. my sister in laws swear by T-Fal but I didn't want pans with plastic handles or Teflon a surface, then I stumbled upon these pots and pans and fell in love so I ordered them.this is a big investment for us, but I hoped since they were T-Fal they would be quality... when I finally got them I was surprised how heavy they are they are truly quality and will last forever I was so happy with my purchased yesterday I ordered the accompany 8 1/2" sauté pan! If you want pots and pans that look good and are a great buy get this set Note: please do not get the Teflon version this cooks just as well and won't wear off!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice cookware, but some cheap qualities, November 16, 2003

I bought this set, hoping that it would be as good as Jamie is to me when it comes to good, simple recipes. However, after a week I was disappointed. I boiled water in the small sauce pan and began to notice dripping around the rivets on the handle. I thought, well maybe this is just condensation. Then I threw a tea bag in it and I saw my tea trickling down the sides.

In addition to this, when cooking, some of my food would also get stuck on the sides where the rivets were. I realized that eventually there would be food that would get stuck in those rivets that I can't clean out and it would be horrible looking. Thus, I've returned them in exchange for Calphalon Hard Anodized Aluminum pots. I have yet to try these and I am a little afraid after reading several Amazon reviews!

Other than my problems with the Jamie pots listed above, the pans did heat up really well. They are also very attractive for the price. At the newly discounted price, they're a nice starter set. But, if you're looking for the real deal I don't recommend these.

Sorry Jamie. They're just not as Pukka as you are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Set, May 25, 2006

I'm not sure what non-stick pans the other reviews were talking about since this set has no non-stick surfaces and that was precisely the reason I wanted these. In general T-Fal non-stick pans last only about 6-9 months of daily use and I use those only for eggs, crepes and things of that nature. These steel pans should last a lifetime. I've cooked with All-Clad before and found the handles extremely uncomfortable compared to Jamies Tefal design. The weight is good and cleans up easily. I actually like the steel lids as well since I typically rest wooden spoons, paddles or whisks on the lid to not cross contaminate each pans contents...if you worry about lifting a hot lid, try using a side towel, that's what they're used for. I find that my lids fit snug and I try to remember to never hit the pan edge with a spoon or spatula since knocking the pan out of shape will cause the lid to not fit. While I do think the MSRP is a bit high these pans are a pleasure to work with..I wish I had two sets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellence in Cookware, March 19, 2004
This review is from: T Fal Jamie Oliver Stainless Steel 9 Piece Cookware Set
The professional quality pans are well-made & very heavy. I am using them on my new smoothtop stove and they work wonderfully. They heat evenly & cleanup is a breeze. You don't need the non-stick pans in my opinion. The first thing I fixed was frying sausage & although it looked like it was going to stick, it just turned loose and cooked beautifully! I would highly recommend this set. The best thing about mine is it was free - hubby earned it as a prize at work. He wasn't too thrilled at first, but even he is very pleased & feels it was a nice gift!

2.0 out of 5 stars Glad I didn't pay MSRP!, April 12, 2004

When I took the pots out of the box, I was all excited and happy about my shiny new stainless pots. I've used them for about a month now, and so far here are my impressions:

The frying pans are not that bad, they hold the heat real well, and are a beauty to work with. I would have liked a less pronounced curve for the sides, as it's hard to have the food "jump" from the pan when shaking it back and forth.

Like Celeste mentions in another review, I have 2 pots that leak around the handles. I haven't contacted Tefal yet, but am eager to see how the "limited lifetime warranty" will hold up to that, and whether the replacements will have the same problem.

It's a nice stainless set, but the price is not a "bargain" for what it is. I'd say it's worth just that (150$) and nowhere near the MSRP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stainless is the way to go, December 18, 2003

Having the pots for 4 days, Non stick is sticking, even after an oil seasoning, and has also peeled in 2 spots. My mistake: DO NOT USE TEFLON SAFE VINYL SCRUB PADS! TEFLON COATING IS NOT COVERED under warranty!
Other than that the stainless pans are fantastic! I ordered the larger stainless saute 12 incher (still Jamies') to replace the shabby non stick. All around good heavy pans worth the money.

cheers!
