I bought this to discourage dogs, black bears and even cougars, while hiking or riding my bike, and to alert other boats of my presence, when kayaking. It's probably not as effective as a shotgun, but it doesn't scare the neighbors quite as much, either. It's easier to use than pepper spray, which can become a real pain in a hurry, if the wind shifts. It's so loud that it can be employed at a distance, if you see trouble coming, and anything that might bother you will likely get lost as soon as you use it. It's also an good way to let your four-legged neighbors in remote locations know where you've decided to set up camp. Predators make their living being stealthy and really try to avoid loud prey.

I bought this because I take a lot of two and three hour walks. Even though I stay within city limits, from time to time I run into an aggressive dog and wanted to have another non-lethal tool in my arsenal besides my walking stick. This thing does the trick. It's extremely loud and so far has stopped every questionable dog in its tracks.

This one seems like the best deal; I got it, and it is the full size 8oz can.

I made a brief test blast- Whoah. That sucker's LOUD.

It's easy to hold, about the size of a beer can although using one hand you actually hold the horn part at the top, and it's impressively loud. Keep away from children. It is NOT a toy.

This air horn is super loud. It works. Nothing else I can say about an air horn.

Bought this product as a deterrent/home-defense item. My wife is not into keeping guns by the bedside, so I armed her with this and a can of Frontiersman Bear Attack Deterrent with Hip Holster. After receiving the product, naturally I wanted to test it. After a split-second blast, holding the can at arms-length, pointing away from me, it made my ears ring for 5 minutes... WOW was that loud!! It will definitely wake the neighbors.

Now, knowing how loud it is, my only complaint would be I wish it had a safety switch to prevent accidental discharge.

i bought 2 falcon air horns for christmas.they were for my grandsons for use at the ny ranger games.one worked the other had no air .i would not buy this product again because its real use is for saftey on the water and the odds of it working is only 50/50
