Amazing tunes with an even more INCREDIBLE story!, February 3, 2009
"Falcons" are the product of a tragic yet beautiful story. Jared Falcon was childhood friends with Neil Rosen and Shannon Ferguson (guitarist for the New York band LONGWAVE) in Petaluma, CA. In January 1987, at the age of 14, Jared Falcon started writing and recording songs on a Fisher Price cassette recorder almost daily for a little over a year. The result was a prolific 336 songs. Sadly, Jared was institutionalized and has subsequently passed away since.
Jared's cassette recordings had long been forgotten when they were discovered by Shannon Ferguson while helping Jared's mother clean out a storage shed. His brilliance has now been brought to life thanks to his two childhood friends. Joined by Christian Bongers on bass and Jason Molina (also of LONGWAVE), Falcon honor Jared's wonderful musical vision by fleshing out the beautifully aching music/lyrics he left behind years ago.
These songs are incredible...and to think...there are 331 more. Simply can't wait to hear more!
