2nd in Sweet Seasons series lots of good fun,
By Christina Lockstein "Christy's Book Blog" (Oconto Falls, WI USA) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: The Fall of Candy Corn (Sweet Seasons, Book 2) (Paperback)
The Fall of Candy Corn by Debbie Viguie is the second in the Sweet Seasons series starring Candace Thompson. Candy is still working at The Zone, the local amusement park, but this time as herself in a haunted maze. She hates the attention that keeps coming her way and is worried about her future plans for college. This YA chick-lit title is a little bit Nancy Drew, a little bit Scooby-Doo (including the line: we would have gotten away with it if not for you kids!), and a whole lot of fun! Candy is your very typical teenager, trying to have fun, hang with friends, and not think too hard about tomorrow. Vigiue captures the essence of adolescence with its flits of maturity as well as stretches of complete self-absorption. But Candy is charming, someone you want your son to bring home and your daughter to befriend. The Zone is a great backdrop filled with fascinating characters. Bring this one home for you and your daughter!

Best Fall Job Ever,
By
This review is from: The Fall of Candy Corn (Sweet Seasons, Book 2) (Paperback)
This book was even better than the first one in the series. I really liked how Candace has really changed from the first book. She now is one of the regulars and she fits in with almost everyone. She's grown up quite a bit as she's more willing to help out others. She even gives up her free time to plan the dreaded Sugar Shock event and recruits others to join her. It's quite a nice change from the indecisive snobby girl from the first book. Her relationship with Kurt is growing also in this book. While he's a nice guy, I personally prefer Josh myself. I'm hoping that somehow him and Candace might end up together. Tamara is a much better character in this story. I was pleased to see her generosity put to good use in regards to the youth group's trip. This story really made me want The Zone to exist in real life. It would be so awesome to go visit and scare myself silly throughout the park. There's some scary events that take place in the park which would have freaked me out but Candace takes them in stride. Her job is way cool and I totally envy her. This book is a fun, quick, hip read that teens will love. I am dying to read the next book in the series. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite YA series ever.

The Fall of Candy Corn,
This review is from: The Fall of Candy Corn (Sweet Seasons Novel, A) (Paperback)
The Fall of Candy Corn is the second in the Sweet Season Series. Candace Thompson is a typical teenage girl who likes to have fun, hang out with friends, and not to worry about tomorrow. She continues her summer job at a local theme park which was only suppose to be a short-term summer job. It's Halloween time at the Zone and Candace's job is working as a maze monster and she is a little embarrassed of it. Candace hates the attention that keeps coming her way and is worried about her future college plans. I would recommend this book to mostly girls who love a series book. It has lots of interesting characters in this book and lots of mysteries to figure out. This book is great for you to get into the time of season it is. It's the perfect book to read around this time of year.

Sticky but Sweet,

No matter how much you chew it, candy corn always gets stuck in your teeth. Candace is just like that - sweet with a personality that sticks with you.
I really enjoyed the second book in the Sweet Seasons series. Specifically for the goosebumps it gave me while figuring out the mystery. This is the perfect book to read around this time of year and I'll probably pick it up again during Halloween next year. Keleigh Crigler Hadley author[...] |
