Book Description

I'm finally home after struggling through my brother's illness and death. But, home is definitely a bit different. My best friend (the only person alive now that knows my secret) has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City's most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy.
But, it doesn't matter to me because I've spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that.
A paranormal romance.

3.0 out of 5 stars Another Half a Book August 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
To be Honest, I didn't actually read the reviews before I started this book. I liked the sample and decided it was what I was looking for- something not terribly deep but a good romance. In that respect, it didn't disappoint. It's really obvious who she's been looking for, but it's supposed to be. Sometimes I wanted to smack her though, because the way she went about it really didn't make any sense. Why wouldn't she consider Shane? Why would she be looking for his eyes when hers (and presumably his) would have changed each life? There were probably well thought out answers to these questions, and I would have liked the author to take the time to answer them.

The other thing that bothered me about the novel was the rushed ending, if you can call it that. This is another case of "here's half the story. Now buy the second one." When did this become acceptable? Books shouldn't just stop partway through the action... that's the climax, the third act. Now finish the story. I'm not even talking about just having a cliffhanger; a cliffhanger implies the conflict has been resolved and then another shocking event happens. In this case, the book has been hinting to this end all along. We're finally getting to the meat of the novel when it stops.

I would recommend waiting until the next one is out before purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can I give it 10 stars? July 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ok, l am so lucky! I found this book by chance as soon it was released... I don't read paranormal very often, but the cover got my attention and I decided to give it a chance... Wow!!! I was captivated immediately. The first stages of Grace and Shane relationship reminded me of Beautiful Disaster and Shane and his band reminded me of Thoughtless (two of my absolute favorite books)... So I knew I was in for a great ride!!! Fall from Grace is now definitely on my forever favorites list, right next to Rock Me and the Twilight Saga,,, If you liked any of those 4 books I've mentioned you will love this one. I just hope we don't have to wait long for the second book... I am so looking foward to it!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Mother Fluffin Cliffhanger Ending May 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I bought this book, I never saw a review about the abrupt ending. Only glowing 5 star reviews. As I read the book I wanted to give it 4 stars.... until that mother fluffin ending! Yes, the 2nd book is out now and blowing up so I should be excited to read it but really I'm just irritated.

Know what this book had a lot of? Anticipation. A metric butt load of it. And I went to read reviews of the next book and it looks like more of the same. Man, I do really love some relationship apprehension and excitement, but GET TOGETHER ALREADY!

There's only so many times I can hear why you can't be together. After everything we saw at the ending of this book- if we start out with Grace giving excuses of why she can't be with Shane then I think I'd rather have a swarm of bees fly out my butt than read more of that junk. Phew. Maybe I should try to calm down and think happy thoughts.

The reasons why you should read this book:

-It is gripping. There are the standard typos and wrong words and editor-missed boo boos, but they're easy to over look because the writing is good!

-Shane and Grace. Sure you guess the plot and secrets but you don't care because you want to read about these two. Watch them start a fire and burn with each other in their love. And even though I thought some of the dialogue was a little.... wooden? cheesy? immature? it still had some of the best delivered lines from a hottie you'd ever want to read!! Shane was yet another man-whore that had me swooning when he met his game-changer.

-The plot. It's got a paranormal background that's not too weird- just perfect enough to be different from other contemporary romances out there. Even if you don't like paranormal books, you'll probably like this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it! July 30, 2012
By Lise
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read over 120 books this year and this book is one of my five star books. I found out about Fall From Grace via a book blogger I follow, Maryse. I like almost all of her recommendations and this was a winner for me. The whole guitar playing hot guy vibe, lots of angst, great secondary characters and the paranormal mystery surrounding Grace just enhanced the dynamic of the story. I don't even mind the cliffhangy part at the end because I am so into the story I can't wait for more. Kudos to the author and I will definitely be looking forward to more of her work!

HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF ALL DELECTABLE SEXUAL TENSION WITH A HEAPING SIDE OF INCREDIBLE, HEART-STOPPING ROMANTIC TORTURE!!! My heart is beating out of my chest right now from the cliffhanger to shame all cliffhangers, but I must somehow get this review done before I get myself so far into Saving Grace that they start to mesh together! Five stars??!! Not nearly enough!!

First off, a standing ovation, high five, hand over the award now "Woot, woot!!" to Christine Zolendz for this absolutely incredible story! And what makes is so incredible, do you ask? The flawless recipe for an out-of-this world paranormal romance that leaves you breathless, that's what! Take bookgasm-worthy characters, an addicting plot that leaves you guessing, chemistry so intense that every minute is like the most maddening foreplay, and a torturous heart-thrashing that literally steals the air from your lungs, and you have this irresistible story! It's going to be difficult to talk about it in any detail without giving away what's behind the plot, but I don't want to ruin that surprise for anyone. Zolendz truly came up with a brilliant concept here, and I absolutely LOVED it!!!!

Grace is one of those characters that just keeps you in a constant state of either awe, frustration, or sheer pride for her awesomeness. I went through so many emotions for and with her, and when the book came to a close I felt like I knew every corner of her mind. She's strong and thick-skinned thanks to the pain and heartache she's had to endure, she's the sassy and quick-witted best friend you've always wished you had, and underneath it all she's got this vixen that is dying to come out and play. I went into this one blind, not knowing what her "secret" was, and I LOVED the twist, so I'm not going to give it away.
