This review is from: The Fall Hunt (The Hummingbird Falls Mystery Series) (Kindle Edition)
This is the third in the Hummingbird Falls mystery series I have read, and they keep getting
better! There are several plots going on at one time, leaving me hanging at the end of every chapter! You have to pay close attention to find the subtle clues laid out when trying to figure out where the action is taking you. A cozy mystery, but with some important, deeper messages intertwined in the plot. That fictitious town and it's people are becoming more and more real, love that mutt Buddy and the leading, delightful character Ellie. I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

Fall Hunt,
By Dixie Jakubsen (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Fall Hunt (The Hummingbird Falls Mystery Series) (Kindle Edition)
Fall brings trouble to the quaint villiage of Hummingbird Falls. Suffering Post-traumatic reactions after being taken hostage by bank robbers, Protagonist, Ellie Hastings, struggles to remember a critial clue in solving the crime. As Ellie struggles to remember, Sheriff, Dave Shaffer hunts for his fellow officers who are lost in an unexpected fall blizzard. The robbers are hunting for the lost stolen money and a huge bear, Scar Face, hunts for survival. A fast-paced, nail-biter of a read.

This review is from: The Fall Hunt (The Hummingbird Falls Mystery Series) (Kindle Edition)
The action is fast-paced in this third entry to the Hummingbird Falls series: Ellie is taken hostage in a bank robbery but survives, then a month later, stumbles on a body on a trail; Colby has called in reporting blood on a different trail and then disappeared; a group of three hunters get lost in the woods; a bear is wandering the woods desperately in search of food before hibernating; and a major and unexpected winter storm makes travel in the woods and elsewhere extremely harrowing. The action is rapidly back and forth between these various plots. Everything gets wrapped up neatly at the end, but there was a lot of suspense in these plots and a little bit less down time with people joking around over their blueberry turnovers at the pastry shack. If you enjoyed the previous books in the series, you will probably enjoy this latest entry as well.
