Editorial Reviews

"...Fall Prevention: Stay On Your Own Two Feet! is an easy to read reference for elders, caregivers and professionals who are looking to be proactive in avoiding a first or subsequent fall. " --Ricki Weiser, MSW, LSW, CMC, Inside GCM, Journal of National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Manager

Most of us assume that age leads to frailty, and frailty leads to falls that it's normal, inevitable, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. Incorrect, say the experts. Now there is Fall Prevention: Stay On Your Own Two Feet! to tell us how. Geared to older people and their families, rather than professionals in the health-care field, it is highly readable with large print and no medical jargon, amply illustrated and easy to understand. --Liz Taylor, Columnist Seattle Times, Growing Older

The work of professional artist Pam Gosner may be found throughout the books. Her illustrations add spice to the recipes that offer sound advice on "Fall Prevention" --Norma Steinberg, MLS, FOLO (Families of Loved Ones)

Format: Paperback
This book is definitely a winner. Having spent a lot of time working with an older population, I'm always searching for a manual that clients will actually enjoy reading on their own. Oftentimes, coverage of this material is dry at best, which is unfortunate, because it is such an important topic. However, the team of Davies and Scully seem to write with the reader in mind--there are cute illustrations, it's easy to navigate, and the reader really learns a lot of simple exercises and techniques. I would definitely recommend it as a must read for anyone who has ever felt concerned for theirs--or a loved ones--balance, etc.
