5.0 out of 5 stars In defense...
We are being fully honest there buddy. The singer is f**king insanely good, and he blends with the music very very very well. It pisses me off when people assume their opinion is "correct/proper" and we are all lying by saying we like the singing ?

I enjoy every single scream on the whole album from start to finish.

3.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, they've got talent...
This band does have a lot of talent, especially their blazing guitarist, but I can't get into these guys. While the guitars are fast, very few of his riffs actually stand out to me and I'm not feeling the way the songs are arranged. But, I think these guys have quite a bit of potential.

Check out the LATEST Hot Cross, Fair Trades and Fairwells. It has much...

If you can't appreciate the rough texture the vocals bring to the music, then thats too bad for you. Take it or leave it.

btw, the guitarist and screamer are the same guy - Thomas Erak.

If so please pierce my eardrums. I cannot stop listening to FOT. I wake up singing Ghostship Part 4 and go to bed singing Mouths like Sidewinder Missles. Everyday it is played either in my car or at home. I can't get enough of it. I need my daily fix of FOT. Is this addiction a good thing? I can't find anything else to fill this hole. Nothing else compares.
I know this is my second review, but The Fall of Troy addiction compells me to do so.

5.0 out of 5 stars wow, April 15, 2005
This review is from: Fall of Troy (Audio CD)
There is no way you can't say that this band has amazing talent. I've seen them live at least 9 or 10 times and not once have they disappointed me. They present their music so well and give the viewer everything they should expect from a good live show. The album is great, but they're sooo much better live. Catch them on their current tour if you can! This band is just too good.
If you like Hot Cross, but need a little bit more of a kick from them, I highly reccomend you bust out some Fall of Troy and bump that. Everytime I listen to Hot Cross I have to put on some Fall of Troy right after just cuz I feel that Hot Cross is lacking something.
Theres no way you can deny that the Fall of Troy is one of the most talented bands you've ever heard. Look out for their next album off of Equal Vision Records sometime this summer!

5.0 out of 5 stars The sound of progress, October 9, 2005
This review is from: Fall of Troy (Audio CD)
Every time I listen to this I have to remind myself that the trio
from Washington state were only 16 when they cut this album. In their younger years they managed to create one of the most progressive records of the last few years. Their music is like an incendiary bomb that explodes in your face. Three distinct guitar parts (although there is one guitar player), intricate meters, and never dull.

Let me know if you like/dislike the review, or don't. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insane talent, mind-blowing music, and wtf is this for real? melt into one amazing CD, June 11, 2006
This review is from: Fall of Troy (Audio CD)
Chaotic, yet controlled with precision. This is the first big release from The Fall of Troy, and IMO one of the best releases ever. Sure, it's not polished like the big labels, but that makes it all the more fun.

And in response to TVX: What the hell is your problem? I looked through your reviews and 90% of them are just 1 star insults to the band and it's fans. Seriously, you need to see a counselor, they can fix your anger/social/mental problems. Maybe you feel cool going around the site and insulting music that other people like, but why waste your time? The reviewers and listeners here know that pessimists like you find enjoyment in doing anything that puts others down, which makes your reviews pointless and not worth reading. So stop making us waste time scrolling over your BS and join a group of outcasts like yourself in anger management class. If you aren't ever going to mature past your kindergarten bully attitude, follow the kindergarten rule: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars A M A Z I N G, April 28, 2006
This review is from: Fall of Troy (Audio CD)
This group is far ahead of the crap in the modern scene. If anything id say they remind me of the old saosin or maybe the sounds of animals fighting. Not because of anything melodical or technical content but more about the pure raw energy they put out. Ive listened to everything, emo emocore, rap, underground hiphop, electronica, metal, hardcore, you name it. Rarely do you come across something this ground-breaking or full of potential. Not to mention some great song names ;D The guitars are mind blowing, no band these days has guitar that great(besides the old saosin oc) and i would hardly categorize this as emo, nothing emo about it. FOT is imo a part of the new experiment wave arising in the scene with other bands like circa survive, tsoaf, and those are the only ones i can think of at the top of my head. They dont necesarily sound similar at all, but more importantly these groups are trying to break new ground and mesh more influences together. These guys will be the godfathers of some massive genre one day. Buy this cd and let its technicality and energy blow you away. Like someone earlier said it hits you like an atomic bomb.

5.0 out of 5 stars OH BOY, July 21, 2004
This review is from: Fall of Troy (Audio CD)
Wooooo....Andrew D, what are you talking about? "If you want to be dazzled by intense arrangements and cool sounding guitars then listen to Hot Cross." Hot Cross is awful! The singing is so emo it hurts(not the lead), the guitars are mediocre(if you can hear them over the awful singing), and it's boring. I like the main singers voice, that sounds cool, but everyone else needs to quiet down in that band. Also, the songs go nowhere but in circles because they conjure a little cool 5 second riff and play it over and over and over. The Fall of Troy is simply amazing. I've been trying to find something that sounds like this for a long time. The guitars are insane, the screaming is great. The only part im not crazy about is the screamers regular voice which you don't even hear that often. They sorta sound like Alexisonfire(the screaming is identical) but they are way more technical.

I don't even listen to hardcore or whatever this genre is, but I enjoy good music and these guys are unbelievable. Yeah, they scream, but that's about the only comparison I would make to the Blood Brothers, TFOT are way harder, but it's still easy to listen to. An earlier poster compared the guitars to At the Drive-In and I agree. The drummer is unparalleled and the singer has a good voice when singing and screaming. There is no band out there like the Fall of Troy, the Mars Volta is great, but the two bands have nothing in common.

Last point, you would think with a fairly unknown band (that Amazon doesn't even have a picture of the cd) would have bad sound quality on the cd. But they sound very tight and very clear on the record.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of the absolute best albums you will ever buy, December 31, 2003

this album pretty much speaks for itself, but sisnce you probobly haven't heard it, i'll try to tell you about it and convince you to buy it. the fall of troy can easily be dubbed the greatest three piece band toplay anything "rock and roll" since nivana...naw, ?$@# that! more like, since the jimi hendrix expirience. to describe their sound: imagine if refused learned rythm and arrangement from television, and then got that dude from king crimson to play guitar for them, and they listened to a lot of bad brains and at the drive-in. sounds cool, eh? well, that really doesn't even begin to do justice to how great these guys are. the riffs, the tempo changes, the lyrics, the EVERYTHING! thomas erak brings a fresh guitar sound twisted and intricate and faster and with more soul than anything you've heard in the last ten/twenty years, or so. i've seen these guys live and you have to keep in mind that the he can do all this all this and singing at the same time. not to discard the rest of the band. the beats a reminicent of a machine gun with turret's and the bass is blitzkreig of power and depth. this album grabs ahold of you and won't let you go until you've given it a good 2 or 3 listens all the way through. i'm sure that you, like me, have got to pretty friggin tired of the same old crap musicians churn out these days betwen happy-go-lucky pop-punk and oooh-scary-mask poop-metal, you don't see a lot of real talant and creativity from modernmusic these days, and i can assure you that these guys will not dissapoint you. if you buy one album this year i suggest you buy this one. these guys are a new band and still pretty "small" so, you probobly won't see it in you local cd store at the mall (and keep in mind that that isn't neccicarily a bad thing) so order it now. and i must say,(with the shipping of course) it's got to be the best damn $20 i ever spent.

hail! thomas erak. rock's newest guitar god!
