5.0 out of 5 stars Spellbinding page-turner
This is one book that kept me captivated from the first page to its climatic, and surprising end. Ms. Kell leaves nothing to the imagination with her vivid, rather gruesome account of the attrocities of the French Revolution... not to mention edge-of-your-seat intrigue and romance. The ending alone is worth reading all the way through.

2.0 out of 5 stars Over-rated brain-candy
This is an amusing novel that will entertain you for a couple of hours, but in the end you'll feel as if you've eaten cotton candy for dinner--a lot of fluff and no nourishment. The plot is wildly improbable but still generally predictable; and how does a story that takes place about 90% in England get off calling itself "a novel of the French Revolution"...

I recommend this book to anybody...I have read it over and over, and I am not the type of person who is usually able to read a book more than once! Definately worth checking out or having on your shelf!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book!, June 11, 2000
"The Fallen Angels" is a remarkable book! I enjoyed reading it and I hope that many others consider reading this book too. The story of "The Fallen Angels" truly describes the author's vivid imagination. The romance and adventure of this story makes this book even more interesting to read! I loved it!

5.0 out of 5 stars From the first paragraph I was spellbound., January 15, 1999

What I loved most about The Fallen Angels was that I was delightfully surprised at the action oriented mystery of the piece. The characters are well thought out and dynamic.Good characters are virtuos while evil characters are as sinister and seething as one gets. Ms. Kells manages to capture in wonderful detail all of the savage imagery that we associate with the period of the French Revolution.A tremendous swashbuckling read from start to finish. I only wish that she had chosen to write more.

This is the one book written under this pseudonym by Bernard Cornwell! I love all of his books, they are so well researched and well written. If you like this one, don't miss the others!!

The plot is wildly improbable but still generally predictable; and how does a story that takes place about 90% in England get off calling itself "a novel of the French Revolution"? There's almost nothing having to do with any real history; a scene or two of revolutionary atrocities is hardly satisfying for the French Revolution junkie looking for a good solid historical novel. Don't waste much time or money on this one.
