Before I begin the review on the actual "Darker than Black" OVA's, which are the last 4 episodes of Season Two, I am going to review Amazon's Instant Video player. If you installed the Amazon Unbox Video in Nov. 2011, you most likely have one with contrast and brightness problem at its default setting. Here is how you can fix it:
1) Launch Amazon Unbox Video
2) on the top right hand side click on "settings"
3) click on "Preferences"
4) on the bottom right hand side click on "advanced"
5) uncheck the box next to "Use YUV Mode"
6) exist Amazon Unbox Video and restart your computer
The above steps will set video to original studio default setting instead of the Unbox Video's default setting which sets contrast and brightness of the video to 50 and 50 respectively.

I watched the entire OVA without knowing the above fix. It was not fun to try to compensate the contract and brightness manually with the slider bars as I watched the OVA.

The OVA's have every strong points that makes the First Season shine. It picks up the storyline right after where the first season ended. So if you are a Darker than Black fan, watch the OVA's before starting on Season Two Episode 1. I only recently started watching Season 2, and not yet finished; the flow of the storyline is definitely different than Season One and the OVA's. It has a feel of being rushed to tell a 24-episode story in the time frame of a 12-episode series. Supporting characters usually die in a short amount of time and thus ended up with no real character development.

1st season was much better, this was confusing and depressing. I don't know where they were going with this but they changed the characters personalities and every episode became worse. Bad purchase.
