Better than most but not all,
By Jamie (New York, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters - America Has Fallen, The Antichrist Reigns... (Paperback)
There is no question that this series is far better than the Left Behind series. The characters of the Omega Trilogy are much more believable than the two dimesional characters of the endless LeHaye/Jenkins books. On the other hand, Omega and Left Behind don't hold a candle to the Christ Clone Trilogy (In His Image, Birth of an Age, Acts of God) by James BeauSeigneur. Not since C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien have I seen a Christian author with such skill in his craft.

One of the Better End Times Series,
This review is from: Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters - America Has Fallen, The Antichrist Reigns... (Paperback)
Since I work at a Christian Book Store, I have access to numerous books for free. I borrowed this book and read it immediately after I read the first book in the series. I finished this book within a week. For fans of the Left Behind Series, I strongly recommend this book. If you think the Left Behind series is moving too slow, then read these. There will be only three of them, and they move faster and have more interesting characters. This series contains more realistic action and a better plot. I dont want to give you any characters names because I feel you should discover them by yourself, but you can't go wrong with a unit of the army, a Count of Germany possessed by Satan, a boy who is watched over by God himself, and a band of indians. Powerful book.

Time to petition the publisher to release Trilogy conclusion,
By DavidDINO (Madison Co., Florida USA) - See all my reviews

Gilbert Morris has proven to be a master in several regards, the most recent being this collaborated work with his son and daughter. Rich characters, captivating vignettes into their handling of end-times crises, demonstrations of faith, and suspense are elements that should captivate most readers. This sequel to The Beginning of Sorrows carries us deeper into a conceivable Revelation scenario. The journey contains rich rewards for those who venture into this disastrous future. So, why hasn't Thomas Nelson Publishing released Seven Golden Vials, the conclusion to the Omega Trilogy?? They are pumping out works that are babes-milk by comparison, yet have not released this anxiously-awaited finale (which was supposedly published in March, 2001). [Don't even bother trying their helpless Website] Readers of this series would be grateful to continue this epic adventure!!

Don't get started with this series - YET,

The book is excellent. However, I should have paid more attention to the other reviews of this book. YOU CANNOT FINISH THE SERIES BECAUSE THE THIRD BOOK IN THE TRILOGY IS NOT AVAILABLE!!! I would wait to buy either of the books in this series until the third book is published. You thought the Left Behind series left you hanging from year to year. At least they have put out a schedule so you can plan for the next release. There is absolutely no information on the release of the third book in this series. I am mailing a letter to Thomas Nelson Publishing. It is a shame that the "marketeers" of the world are deciding when we should be allowed to read a book. And this is a real shame since these guys are suppossed to be christian publishers. The Rapture is going to happen before we ever get a chance to finish either of these series. If you want one that is finished read the "Christ Clone Trilogy". At least these guys knew how to finish what they started.

A step up from most of the others,
This review is from: Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters - America Has Fallen, The Antichrist Reigns... (Paperback)
This is a very good book. Unlike the host of other endtimes fiction available, Fallen Stars actually has something to say. Rather than using the apocalypse as some sort of big budget spectacle, Morris actually uses the setting to say something about God and mankind. He delves into the philosophy much more than the Left Behind series does and leaves you thinking about Christianity in a slightly better way. Fallen stars actually reminds me a bit of Caldwell's novel We All Fall Down, which also uses the apocalypse for religous exploration rather than simple plot purposes. Morris' novel isn't quite up to the level of Caldwell's masterpiece, but it's still head and shoulders above the rest of the endtime novels out there and I highly recomend it.

I made sure I read all the LEFT BEHIND books again and the marvelous CHRIST CLONE TRILOGY by James BeauSeigneur before I reviewed this work by the talented Morris clan. I have to agree that this book ranks up with, if not beyond the aforementioned collections if for no other reason than I happen to like the Real-Deal style of the writing. I have reviewed a lot of books in my space here, noteably; LUCIFERS HAMMER, SWAN SONG, THE NEW MADRID RUN, and Others- all sharing a gritty (Real-Deal) style and moment to moment continuity that seperates a work of words from a work of renown. Don't miss this book or it's original installment, and write the publishing house to insist on the final cap to this classic languishing in limbo!!!

Touting this as book two of a trilogy should be considered false advertisement!,

This is why I hate buying books that are not stand alone novels. Here is a writer that started a series (and it was initially intended to be a trilogy) and QUIT WRITING IT BECAUSE THE FIRST TWO DIDN'T SELL WELL ENOUGH. (FYI: According to information found on the internet the reason for not publishing the final book was lack of sales on the first two.)
Are you an author or a money grubbing... And this from a touted "Christian" writer. SHAME ON YOU. Without the final book in the trilogy reading the first two is a waste of time. If I could get my money back on the two previously purchased books, I would. The authors should be sued for false advertisement. The books were published and promoted as books one and two of a trilogy, not stand alone novels. I want my money back or the final book!

The Omega Trilogy leaves "Left Behind" left behind!,

Having read all of the "Left Behind" series, I can say that this set of books is much stronger than the LaHaye/Jenkins series. The characters are more complex, and numerous. The writing style, while taking a bit of time to get used to, is more solid than the LB series. Tor von Eisenhalt makes a much more convincing anti-Christ. Left Behind is not a bad place to start, but the Omega Triogy is definitely a more concise step up in literary terms.

An unusual twist on End Times fiction!,
By
This review is from: Fallen Stars, Bitter Waters - America Has Fallen, The Antichrist Reigns... (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book and it's First part, The Beginning of Sorrows. These books are a world apart from traditional End Times fiction, such as "Left Behind." If you can get past this author's idea that everyone in the future has a weird and lengthy name, you'll find an engrossing (if complicated) plot and a diverse group of characters. I'm very frustrated by the publisher's decision to NOT publish part three of this trilogy, but I still recommend reading the first two.

We need the next book.,

I know that sometimes the author does not have a choice about publishing the next the book, but in this case I hope that it is just the author since if it is him, then maybe he will write it in the future. I don't believe them when they say that the sale of the book was so low so that they decided not to publish the book so that they wouldn't lose money. A lot of people loved, and love, the series. I think that if you published the book right now that there would be a flock of people to try and get the book first. Even though it might not be Left Behind saling extravaganza, the series is one of the best that I have read in a long time. I think the only solution to this is to write a petition up and try and get Morris to write the book (only if he hasn't written it yet) or try and get the publishing house to publish it.
