More About the Author

Jeff Foster studied Astrophysics at Cambridge University. In his mid-twenties, after a long period of depression and illness, he became addicted to the idea of 'spiritual enlightenment' and embarked on an intensive spiritual quest for the ultimate truth of existence.

The spiritual search came crashing down with the clear recognition of the non-dual nature of everything, and the discovery of the extraordinary in the ordinary. In the clarity of this seeing, life became what it always was: intimate, open, loving and spontaneous, and Jeff was left with a deep understanding of the root illusion behind all human suffering, and a love of the present moment.

He presently holds meetings, retreats and private one-to-one sessions around the world, gently but directly pointing people back to the deep acceptance inherent in the present moment. He helps people discover who they really are, beyond all thoughts and judgments about themselves, even in the midst of the stress and struggle of modern day living and intimate relationships.

Jeff's teaching style is direct and uncompromising and yet full of humanity, humor and compassion. He believes that freedom is everybody's birthright. He belongs to no tradition or lineage, and makes his teaching accessible to all.

Jeff was voted #51 in Watkins Mind Body Spirit's 2012 list of the world's 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People.

if you have had enough of the usual spiritual claptrap coming through as "nonduality" and are ready for honest and brutal truth; that truth which will at first piss you off, yet will in fact set you free, this book is for you. It's beauty is in it's gorgeous yet utterly radical expression, a deep hearted, deep-throated cry out to those who believe they are somehow "done" and who have all the "correct non-dual words, cliches," to PROVE to others (or perhaps more truthfully, to themselves), that "I GOT IT".

Having written eight books, which in some cases appear to have been helpful to a few seekers, I must now admit that Jeff's work nailed me to the wall, whereupon all I could do is stop muttering such stuff as "there is no me" or "all there is is this" etc. ad nausea, and come clean as best I can. I am writing blog posts about allthat and will share it when it's ripe.

Please do not misunderstand me. There is no guilt, doubt, or fear about all this here. Rather, there is a wonder-struck sense of life, coming through Jeff's work loud and clear, and dispersing the clouds of self-righteousness, phoniness, and the endless pretenses of an ego run amok. To clear out the conceptual noise is allow for freedom to shine through could be said to be the purpose of this book, though I would not wish to put words in Jeff's mouth. This is just my take on it.

For me, this book contains the possibility of a breakthrough from conceptual understanding of spiritual truth, into the actual experience of that freedom which we all are, and that is a treasure. Highly recommended.

With my love and respect,

Charlie Hayes

I have adored reading this book, over and over. It is like sinking deeply into your own joyful and bleeding heart. Its purity. Kindness. Eloquence. Comforting and real. It came at a perfect time in my life and has truly nourished me. It has challenged thoughts, torn at my vulnerability and comforted my aching. It should be recommended to anyone who is willing to be open to see what truly lies within. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have and can recommend it to others who have a desire to recognize what is already here. And its just beautiful poetry.

One of the best. I have this on my Kindle and now I'm buying the book. I seldom do this, only for those select few "bibles" that promise to become friends for life. A beautiful, beautiful volume of spiritual poetry and prose.

Can be enjoyed reading and practicing one entry each day. I was probably expecting something deeper but it is a very simple book.

I put off buying this because, really, I've read a ton of non-dual books and, even though I am aware that non-duality is my path, reading about it is getting to be same-ole-same-ole. As I began reading this one, I thought I had probably wasted my money: "Yeah, I know that. Yeah, yeah. More of the same." But after a few pages, I realized that something that I couldn't define was shifting inside of me. Aha! Jeff was getting past my brain and speaking to my heart. This book IS different. Or perhaps it's effect has more to do with where I'm at than the words. Most likely, it is a combination of both. Anyway... I'm going to reread my other Foster books, for sure.

It was a Christmas gift to my 22 year old son. After following Jeff Foster on Facebook for a while, I felt his style would be welcomed by my kiddo. Jeff is speaking to all age groups and has a unique poetic yet no nonsense writing style. I hope to borrow the book back and read it myself soon.
