Mellow yet powerfully stirring,

This song starts with some melancholy piano into which male and female vocal harmonies enter. The male part tends to dominate with the chorus and some strings enter. It makes for a simple but stirring musical statement. The male voice has an untrained quality that has a lot of soul to it. Toward the middle of the song the orchestra takes a more active role as the song builds to a slow, subtle climax. Mellow piano dominates but with strong orchestral accents.

I think the best part of this album is it's unhurried, unpretentious but very melodic quality. Great work. The kind of album that is engaging without being abrasive.

Great harmony and builds up to subtly powerful chorus,

I loved this song after seeing a short clip of it on a movie review show for the movie 'Once'. It starts with gentle piano and guitar coupled with some soft harmonizing from Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. It builds up nicely adding some strings and bass-lines throughout. The subtle changes to the music during each chorus make it refreshing as it progresses to a bold series of chords, then ends softly as it began. I have not tired of listening to it!
