Book Description

** 2013 News Update! The Loving Summer Series has been optioned for Film!!!**

NEW ADULT CONTEMPORARY FICTION ROMANCE - Due to mature subject matter, dating and sexual content, this book is recommended for age 17+

5 out of 5 Stars - Loving Summer touched on issues like divorce, illness, and self-respect. Gow was able to guide her characters through tough situations without making it too heavy for the first book in the Loving Summer Series. It's very possible that you'll be reduced to tears while reading the passion in the characters' words, actions, and motivations. There isn't anything cookie-cutter or simple about Loving Summer. - Lovey Dovey Books

5 out of 5 Stars - This is hands down one of my favorite books that I've bought for my kindle, EVER." - McKayla

5 out of 5 Stars - Finally a college age/young adult contemporary romance where the girl is strong, has a choice with her love and life, but still captures the vulnerability and femininity of a woman who can attract all kinds of guys, including the hot alpha guys in Loving Summer and all Kailin Gow fiction books. With balance and sensitivity, Kailin Gow writes women characters appropriate for today's modern contemporary world. - J. Hoover, University of Southern California

Love hits you when you least expect it, grabs you, sucks you in whole, and twists you around until you could hardly breathe. Love hurts like a sucker punch, that's both glorious and beautiful. Falling for Summer was like that for me, every time. - Nat Donovan

The Donovan Brothers

Two brothers as gorgeous as they are dangerous.

Nat Donovan, the older more responsible brother with the passion of a starving man. Knows what he wants, but knows he can't have it without giving up everything.

Drew Donovan, the really bad boy, the black sheep, the one who has a devil-may-care attitude, wants what he wants, but knows he would have to go through the ones he loves to have it.

Nat and Drew Donovan has known Summer Jones since they were kids. She had always been the girl next door who was best friends with their little sister Rachel and was cool enough to play with the guys. Now Summer is all grown up, gorgeous, and scorchingly sexy without even knowing it. Responsible older brother Nat, who had always tried to keep their friendship platonic, now can't stop thinking of her and wanting more. Carefree Drew, who had always had a crush on Summer, but knew Summer's heart was already taken, can only fall further for her. But no one had anticipated what would happen between the time the Donovan brothers fell for her and now. No one knew how hard they would fall.

About the Author

Kailin Gow grew up in Southern California where she base many of her books. She recently reversed her health condition (similar to Aunt Sookie's in Loving Summer)and considers it a miracle. She's grateful to all her readers for their support and prayers. She would write each and every one of her readers back for their well wishes, but has to finish writing her next books.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Different View. Still a Great series!! January 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved the first book in this series Loving Summer and though Falling for Summer is about the same characters it's more from the view of the Donovan brothers. I liked getting more about the brothers and how they felt about everything. I did enjoy this book but not nearly as much as Loving Summer. The tension and heart break were all still there but some of what happened in this one drove me through the walls. However maybe this book will set the stage for things to settle out a little bit.

The loss of Aunt Sookie is still fresh though and now someone is attacking Summer and the acting school. Nat and Drew have known Summer since they were children. Both have cared for her in their own ways but now they are willing to show her and even fight for her. It's more than a want for both it's a need and brother seems to be willing to hurt brother just to grab her heart, and with things so rocky with Astor things are more than a little complicated. The question is will Summer see Drew for the boy that has always loved her, find safety in Nat or love the guy that respects her as much as he did he Aunt?

I'm going to take this moment to say I am still #TeamDrew all the way!! I love his guts. His love for Summer seems so true and he is willing to do anything for her. Though he has a reputation for being a player, Drew is determined to turn it all around. His visit with Summer has made him want to be someone better. Every part of me wants Summer to wake the heck up and see Drew for the good he could do for for her and the love he would wrap her in. Sure there is a lot of sexual tension there as well and it's obvious all of the wild things he would do to her but I'm sure it wouldn't be a one night thing for those two.

4.0 out of 5 stars Falling for Summer December 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoy reading books by Kailin Gow. It is my weakness.

Falling for Summer has many great qualities. 1) It updates the reader on what happens with everyone after book 1. Aunt Sookie died and everyone deals with it differently. Nat and Drew have fallen for Summer. They have feelings for her and it is quite intense. Plus there is still the movie actor who adores Summer. 2) Romance isn't the only thing that drives this story. There is the issue of Bullying that Kailin handles in a very appropriate way. It is a big topic that plagues our society. Summer is being bullyed after Aunt Sookie dies. Summer has inherited the acting studio which is being targeted by haters. Her relationship with her actor boyfriend leaves his fans hating on Summer. I like the way Nat steps up and does what he can to stop the bullying. It is a process but it is great to see that Summer doesn't have to be a victim she can be a victor against the bullies. 3) I love Nat. There, I said it. He is the one I want Summer to be with. I just don't know if he will man up and go get her. He is torn between family loyalties, his brother loves Summer, college is in San Francisco, he works for his dad's company. He pines for Summer but what does he do about it? He takes one step forward and two steps back. Very frustrating Nat, very frustrating. 4) Summer is different from book 1. She has had to grow up fast now that she is alone. She's taking control of her life but she is torn between all the affections coming her way from these 3 guys that love her. She loves them all but which one does she love the most? She doesn't even know. She has a lot on her plate to deal with. She is strong and I would like to see her stand on her own for awhile without the romantic advances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Falling for Summer February 23, 2013

This book was excellent. It was a good way to show how cyber bullying is not okay, and show the effects of it. I loved the way that in this book, you could see the perspective of the whole love situation more form the boys side, rather than Summer's side. I really enjoyed the was a serious page turner. I finished it in one day.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected December 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really loved Loving Summer and was excited to be able to read more about the Donovan brothers in Falling for Summer. Nat, Drew, and their sister Rachel have known Summer since they were kids, spending summers together, and after a 3-year hiatus, had resumed that tradition in the first book in the series. What they didn't expect was to see Summer so grown up and so beautiful. Both of the guys had also grown up a lot, especially hot bad boy Drew. Drew has had a crush on Summer since he was a kid, but now he is quite the lady's man, so he has had to work extra hard to prove his sincerity in how he feels about Summer. Summer on the other hand, has had a crush on Nat since she was little, which up until now, he has pretty much shut down, because of family issues and responsibilities, though he really loves Summer, just like his brother Drew does. Talk about complicated.......let's just say that is an understatement as things heat up between Summer and the Donovan brothers.

Lets talk about the characters. I really liked Summer. She's a sweetheart and I felt bad for her because of her circumstances. She has lost her aunt, who has pretty much been her rock. She has had a rocky relationship with her movie star boyfriend. She just turned 18, though she has been an emancipated minor before that point, not having a really close relationship with her mom. While she was sweet and innocent in Loving Summer, in Falling for Summer, she gets a little spicier and sexier, as do her relationships. The Donovan brothers, well, you couldn't as for two hotter guys, though I am totally team Drew, and I was actually a little disappointed in Nat in this book. Yes, he is sexy and finally gives in to his desires and feelings for Summer, but is he really willing to commit?
