Book Description

** 2013 News Update! The Loving Summer Series has been optioned for Film!!!**

NEW ADULT CONTEMPORARY FICTION ROMANCE - Due to mature subject matter, dating and sexual content, this book is recommended for age 17+

5 out of 5 Stars - Loving Summer touched on issues like divorce, illness, and self-respect. Gow was able to guide her characters through tough situations without making it too heavy for the first book in the Loving Summer Series. It's very possible that you'll be reduced to tears while reading the passion in the characters' words, actions, and motivations. There isn't anything cookie-cutter or simple about Loving Summer. - Lovey Dovey Books

5 out of 5 Stars - This is hands down one of my favorite books that I've bought for my kindle, EVER." - McKayla

5 out of 5 Stars - Finally a college age/young adult contemporary romance where the girl is strong, has a choice with her love and life, but still captures the vulnerability and femininity of a woman who can attract all kinds of guys, including the hot alpha guys in Loving Summer and all Kailin Gow fiction books. With balance and sensitivity, Kailin Gow writes women characters appropriate for today's modern contemporary world. - J. Hoover, University of Southern California

Love hits you when you least expect it, grabs you, sucks you in whole, and twists you around until you could hardly breathe. Love hurts like a sucker punch, that's both glorious and beautiful. Falling for Summer was like that for me, every time. - Nat Donovan

The Donovan Brothers

Two brothers as gorgeous as they are dangerous.

Nat Donovan, the older more responsible brother with the passion of a starving man. Knows what he wants, but knows he can't have it without giving up everything.

Drew Donovan, the really bad boy, the black sheep, the one who has a devil-may-care attitude, wants what he wants, but knows he would have to go through the ones he loves to have it.

Nat and Drew Donovan has known Summer Jones since they were kids. She had always been the girl next door who was best friends with their little sister Rachel and was cool enough to play with the guys. Now Summer is all grown up, gorgeous, and scorchingly sexy without even knowing it. Responsible older brother Nat, who had always tried to keep their friendship platonic, now can't stop thinking of her and wanting more. Carefree Drew, who had always had a crush on Summer, but knew Summer's heart was already taken, can only fall further for her. But no one had anticipated what would happen between the time the Donovan brothers fell for her and now. No one knew how hard they would fall.

About the Author

Kailin Gow grew up in Southern California where she base many of her books. She recently reversed her health condition (similar to Aunt Sookie's in Loving Summer)and considers it a miracle. She's grateful to all her readers for their support and prayers. She would write each and every one of her readers back for their well wishes, but has to finish writing her next books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love. February 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book. I bought it tonight and then finished it because I couldn't put it down. I don't know what to say. Words can't describe what I feel about this book. I love the drama that unfolded in this book. Summer went through a lot. She had to deal with her Aunt Sookie's death and keeping up the Academy. Haters brought pain to her and her loved ones. She went through tough heartbreak from the three boys. Astor was away too much. She couldn't love Drew like he wanted her to. And her relationship with Nat was complicated. They love each other but their relationship can't seem to work. Summer went through rough times. But she's strong and all will end well for her and her boys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Love Story!! January 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutely adore this series!! Kailin really knows how to write great love stories!!

Summer has taken on alot with the Academy since her Aunt passed away. Not only that, she has to deal with that backlash of being the girlfriend of an up and coming Hollywood star, Astor.

Summer is torn between Astor and the Donovan brothers - Nat and Drew. She has such strong feelings towards all of them, but all of them different. Things with her and Astor are becoming tough since he is always away filming. Nat has denied his feelings towards Summer this whole time and is now hoping to win her feelings back. However, he knows that right now he can't be there for her with everything else going on in his life. Drew has always loved Summer and has never hid his feelings from Summer, but he knew that Summer always crushes on Nat. Now that Drew will be back in Malibu and attending the same college as Summer, will he be able to win her affections and finally get her??

All three men want nothing but for Summer to feel safe after she starts receiving mean and threatening letters. Then the academy is vandalized and almost burned down. Astor, Nat and Drew all have their own plans to keep her safe and away from the spot light.

Kailin does a great job of writing this book from 3 different POV's. It's nice seeing how Summer, Nat and Drew perceive the different scenarios and how the react to them. It's not easy writing from 3 different POV's and keep the story moving and entertaining. Kailin does a fantastic job and makes you feel for each of them.

I am really thrilled that the next book will be out very soon!!! I am not sure I can wait too long to see what happens with this love square! :)

I am absolutely thrilled that there will be a Donovan series now too. These two boys are just to die for!! They both have a great qualities about them and are both very attractive. I know that this series will be very entertaining!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Love Continues December 25, 2012
What is so amazing about the characters that entertain in the Loving Summer series, is their unconditional love for one another. Kailin Gow brings that love from Summer, Nat, Drew and Rachel while introducing Falling for Summer, a Donovan Brothers novel. The story digs a little deeper into the minds of the men woman have come to know and drool, appreciate. While Nat and Drew Donovan may be brothers, they are rivals when it comes to claiming all of Summer's heart. Their macho head-butting seen in Loving Summer continues, but more is at stake than their own pride, Summer's reputation.

Kailin has always been a conscientious author when writing about social issues that affect so many. Falling for Summer strongly focuses on bullying and how it affects someone in the limelight, or an everyday kind of person. Summer, having taken over Aunt Sookie's acting school, is targeted by haters and die-hard fans of Astor who wish to have him all to themselves. She's the subject of entertainment news gossip and insulted via blogs and even people standing right in the same room as her. She enlists the help of Nat to track down the source of vandalism and hurtful gossip. The story's theme is very important and thoroughly executed, but the characters' reaction to it is a bit preachy. It wasn't so much their actions, but how they spoke about it and processed it. Nat, Rachel and Drew's actions, though, speak unbelievable volumes about the power of friendship when someone has been targeted. Summer had all the love and support she needed to get through a troublesome period.

Falling for Summer is the first in a spin-off series to relate Nat and Drew's love for Summer Jones. I expected it to be solely Nat and Drew, but there are chapters from Summer's point-of-view, as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great continuation January 6, 2013
By Jessica
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Where to start....

I've been waiting for Falling for Summer to come out ever since I read Loving Summer in September. I loved it and couldn't wait to read what would happen next for Summer and all the guys in her life. So I, of course, bought Falling for Summer, as soon as it was released. The way Kailin Gow develops her characters made it hard to pick which guy was my favorite and the one that I wanted Summer to end up with which is good because it shows the struggle that Summer goes through. All the guys have flaws but are still good for her in different ways. (Just in case you were wondering, by the end of Loving Summer my favorite was Drew and still is.)

My favorite thing about this book was being able to read from the guys' perspective some. It made it easier to relate to both Drew and Nat.

I loved seeing Summer's relationships develop in Falling for Summer and I can't wait to see what happens next.

So far I've loved everything that I've read from Kailin Gow and plan to continue reading her books. :)
